Description

  • Vorrichtung zum kontinuierlichen Prägen und Verbinden: einer Folienbahn aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit mindestens einer weiteren Folien bahn Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum kontinuierlichen Prägen und Verbinden einer Folienbahn aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit mindestens einer weiteren Folienbahn, bestehend aus einem Formzylinder, mindestens einer Heizvorrichtung zu@ Erwärmen der zu verbindenden Folienbahnen auf die Verformungs-bzw. Schweisstemperatur und einer Einrichtung zur Zuführung der anderen Folienbahn auf den Umfang des Formzylinde-rs, sowie mindestens einer auf die verbundenen Bahnen einwirkenden Kühlvorrichtung.
  • Bei bekannten Vorrichtungen dieser Art wird die Folienbahn um einen erhitzten Formzylinder herumgeführt und ihr die mit ihr zu verbindende Folienbahn erst aue einem weiteren, mitdem vorgenannten Formzylinder zusammenarbeitenden unbeheizten Formzylinder zugeführt, wobei die Verbindung zwischen den beiden Folienbahnen mittels eines auf die erste Folienbahn bei ihrem Umlauf um den zweiten Formzylinder aufgebrachten Slebstoffs. bewirkt wird. Diese bekannte Vorrichtung eignet sich nicht für die Herstellung von Polstermaterial oder ähnlichen Erzeugnissen, das aus mindestens zwei Folienbahnen besteht, die ihrerseits beide aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff bestehen und durch Erhitzen ihrer Oberflächen bis in- die Nähe des Schmelzpunktes des Kunststoffs im Wege eines Siegel- oder Schweissvorganges miteinander verbunden werden, wobei insbesondere ein Polstermaterial entsteht, das gegenüber dem durch Zusammenkleben der Bahnen hergeZ stellten vor allem den Vorteil grösssrer mechanischer Widerstandsfähigkeit aufweist.
  • Für die Rerstellung einer einzigen; mit einem Prägemuster versehenen Folienbahn hat man bereita Vorrichtungen verwendet, bei denen die Folienbahn einem Formzylinder. zugeführt wird, nachdemsie durch ein umlaufendes Trägerband, das durch Heizvorrichtung@n erhitzt wurde, auf einem längeren Wege beheizt worden war Der Formzylinder wurde auf seiner nicht von der Bahn umschlungenen Umfangshälfte und in seinem Inneren durch Aufblasen bzw.
  • Einblasen von kalter Luft gekühlt und die Bahn nach Beendigung des Prägevorgangs über einen von innen durch Wasser gekühlten Zylinder geführt. Diese bekannte Vorrichtung erfordert jedoch deswegen einen übermassigen Wärmeverbrauch, weil die ständige intensive Kühlung des umlaufenden Formzylinders bereits an; der Auftreffstelle der Bahn auf den letzteren wirksam wird, so dass der Bahn schon an dieser Stelle Wärme entzogen wird' die für die Aufrechterhaltung der Bildsamkeit der Bahn auf dem ihre @rägung bewirkenden Umfangsteil des Form@@linders benötigt wird0 In erhöhtem Masse muss diese bekannte Vorrichtung dann versagen, wenn ea sich um das Verbinden einer ersten Folienbahn aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit einer zweiten Bahn aus gleichem oder ähnlichem Naterial handelt, da dann nicht nur für aas Prägen der ersten Bahn, sondern auch für ihre Vereinigung mit der zweiten Bahn Wärme benötigt wirdp die auf dem selbst intensix gekühlten Formzylinder der bekannten Vorrichtung auch bei starker vorheriger Aufheizung der Bahnen nicht mehr in ausreichendem~ Masse zur Verfügung steht.
  • Durch die Erfindung wird eine Vorrichtung ange@eben, die mit geringstmöglichem Wärme aufwand eine einwandfreie Durchführung sowohl des Prägevorganges als auch des Versiegelungs- oder Schweissvorganges zwischen den beiden aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff bestehenden Bahnen ermöglicht. so dass mit Hilfe der erfindungsgemass ausgebildeten Vorrichtung ein Polstermaterial o. -dglo ton grosser mechanischer Widerstandsfähigkeit mit-allseitig luftdicht abgeschlossenen Zellen erhalten werden kann.
  • Erfindungsgemäss wird zu diesem Zweck die eingangs gekennzeichnete Votrichtung in der Weise ausgebildet, dass die Kühlvorrichtung unmittelbar nach dem Zusammenführen der geprägten Folienbahn mit der anderen Folienbahn auf die Aussenseite des Formzylinders einwirkend angeordnet ist.
  • Dabei kann in baulich einfacher Weise die Kühlvorrichtung an der Unterseite des Formyzlinders einen Trog zur Aufnahme des aus einer- Düse zugeführten Kühlmittels besitzen, wobei zwischen der Düse und einer die zweite Bahn gegen die erste Bahn auf dem Umfang des Formzylinders pressenden Heizwalze ein Schild vorgesehen ist.
  • Zur Erzielung besonders hoher Arbeitsgeschwindigkeiten der Vorrichtung kann diese in der Weise ausgebildet werden, dass mit Abstand zur ühldüse in der Laufrichtung des Pormzylinders eine luftdüse zum Aufblasen von Trockenluft vorgesehen ist.
  • Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht die Erfindung anhand eines Ausführungsbeispiellles. Sie zeigt eine schematisch vereinfachte Seitenansicht der Vorrichtung zur Verarbeitung von zwei Folienbahnen Die Vorrichtung enthält einen Formzylinder 15, dem über die Heizwalzen 22 und 31 Je eine Folienbahn 11 und 13 zugeführt werden. Diese bestehen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff und können Jede gewünschte Stärke haben, doch werden Folien mit einer Stärke zwischen 0,025 und 0,65 mm gewöhnlich bevorzugt. Im der Praxis richtet sich die für ein bestimmtes Produkt zu wählende Stärke der Folien natürlich nacth den von dem herzustellenden Enderzeugnis 10 zu verlangenden Eigenschaften.
  • Den Heißwalzen 22 und 31 können noch weitere Heizwalzen vorgeschaltet @@in, die insgesamt eine Beheizung der Folienbahnen auf dieJenigen Temperaturen bewirken, die zur Durchführung der Prägung der Folienbahn ii auf dem Umfang des Formzylinders 15 sowie zum Verbinden der folienbahn 11 mit der Folienbahn 13 im Wege eines Siegel- oder Sphweissvorganges erforderlich sind.
  • Der Formzylinder 15 kann mit Unterdruck arbeiten und mit einer Anzahl in seiner Oberfläche angeordneter Zellen versehen sein, die den Zweck haben, entsprechende Zellen in dem Enderzeugnis zu bilden Der Form@@linder ist erfindungsgemäss in der Weise wassergekühlt,'dass dadurch eine Abkühlung der geprägten bzwO gepressten Stellen der Folienbahn 11 erfolgt und eine Abkühlung der ungeprägten Stellen dieser Folienbahn, die das Verschweissen der zweiten Folienbahn 13 mit ihr beeinträchtigen: könnte, vermieden wird.
  • Die Erwärmung der mit verhältnismässig grosser Geschwindigkeit laufenden Folienbahnen vor dem Erreichen des Pormzylinders 15 wird in der Weise durchgeführt, dass die Bahntemperatur zwar ahe an-den Schmelzpunkt des Materials herankommt ; es ist jedoch wiahtig, dass tatsächlich kein Schmelzen auftritt.
  • Die zweite Polienbahn 13 wird nach ähnlicher Vorerhitzung, wie sie für die-zu prägende Folienbahn 11 vorgesehen ist, über di.
  • Walze 31, die die Folienbahn 19 bia auf eine in der Nähe ihres Schmelzpunktes liegende Temperatur erhitzt, an den Formzylinder 15 angedrückt, so dass beim Aufbringen der Folienbahn 13 auf die geprägte bzw. gepresste Folienbahn 11 beide Bahnen verschmelzen und somit, die geprägten Zellen fest versiegeln. Das Aufeinandersiegeln der Bahnen erfolgt nur auf den ungeprägten Teilen der Folienbahn 11. Die Folienbahn 13 wird mit der Folienbahn 11 an einer Stelle verbunden, die in nächster Nähe der Auftreffstelle der Folienbahn 11 auf dem Formzylinder 15 liegt, um dadurch eine Abkühlung der Oberfläche der geprägten Folienbahn 11, auf die die Polienbahn 13 aufgeschmolzen wird, weitgehend zu verhindern.
  • Zwischen den Wälzen 22 und 31 kann gewünschtenfalls eine Heizvorrichtung angeordnet sein, um die nicht geprägten Teile der Folienbahn 11 Mit Sicherheit auf der Schmelstemperatur zu haiteno Sobald die Verschmelzung beendet,ist, läuft die vereinigte Bahn 10 über den Formzylinder 15 weiter, wobei sie ia Interesse einer raschen Abkühlung nach dem Verschweissen und zur Erzielung einer dadurch erhöhten Arbeit sgeschwindigkeit erfindungsgemäss der Einwirkung einer Kühlvorrichtung ausgesetzt wird.
  • Zu diesem Zweck ist gemäss einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung: unterhalb der Walze 31 und in unmittelbarer Nähe des Formzylinders 15 ein Schild 36 angebrachte Unter dem Schild 36 ist mindestens eine Düse 37 angeordnet, die Wasser oder ein anderes Kühlmittel direkt auf die Oberfläche der übereinanderliegenden Folienbahnen 11 und 13 spritzt. Dadurch wird eine rasche Ab" kühlung und Ver@iegelung der Bahnen erreicht und eine Trennung derselben voneinander während ihre@ Laufs um den For@@@linder 15 verhindert@ Bei Verwendung flüssiger Kühlmittel ist unterhalb des Formzylinders 15 ein Trog 38 angeordnet, um die aufgespritzte Flüssigkeit aufzufangen, worauf, sie durch einen entsprechenden Kühlapparat mit zugehörigen Pumpen neuerlich verwendbar gemacht werden kannb Das Ausmass der Abkühlung kann bei Verwendung eines tühlmittels sowohl durch die Temperatur des Kühlmittels als: auch durch die 8telle auf dem Formzylinder, auf Die das Kühlmittel aufgebracht wird, geregelt werden. Werden die übereinanderliegenden folienbahnen mittels eines. flüssigen Kühlmittels gekühlt, so wird ihre Aussenfläche mittels Luftdüsen 39 und 40 getrocknet, durch die Trockenluft oder ein anderea geeignetes Gas unter Druck auf. die Aassenfiäche der vereinigten Polienbahnen geblasen wird. Auf diese Weise wirken die Luftdüsen 39 und 40 wie Abstreifmesser, indem sie das flüsaige Kühlmittel von der Oberfläche der Bahnen entfernen und/oder verdampfen, und sie erzielen eine vollständige Trocknung der Bahn 10, bevor diese durch die Walze 32 abgenommen wird.
  • Die Folienbahnen 11 und 13, die geprägt und miteinander versiegelt werden, bestehen aus einem Material, das bei steigen, der Temperatur weich wird und schmilzt. Wenngleich derartige Folien gewöhnlich als "thermoplastisch" bezeichnet werden und solche im allgemeinen auch bei dieser Erfindung verwendet werden so ist-doch nicht beabsichtigt, die Erfindung auf die Verwendung v6n"Polien zu beschränken, die im Handel@als "thermoplastische Polien', bezeic'hnet werden, da, Jede folie verwendet-werden kann, die sich mit Hilfe der erfindungsgemässen Vorrichtung prägen und versiegeln lässt.

  • Patentansprüche:

Claims (1)

  1. P a t e n t a n s p r ü c h e : 1. Vorrichtung zum kontinuierlichen Prägen und Verbinden einer Folienbahn aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit mindestens einer weiteren Folienbahn, bestehend aus einem Formzylinder,mindestens einer Heizvorrichtung zum Erwärmen der zu verbindenden Folienbahnen auf die Verformungs- bzw.
    Schweisstemperatur und einer Einrichtung zur Zuführung der anderen Folienbahn auf den Umfang des Formzylinders, sowie mindestens einer auf die verbundenen Bahnen einwirkenden Kühlvorrichtung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kühlvorrichtung (37, 38; 54, 55; 88 - 91) unmittelbar nach dem Zusammenführen der geprägten Folienbahn (11) mit deranderen Folienbahn (13) auf die Aussenseite des Formzylinders èinw'irkend angeordnet ist.
    2* Vorrichtung nach Anspruc"h 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kühlvorrichtung an der Unterseite des Formzylinders einen trog (38) zur Aufnahme des aus einer Düse (37) zugeführten Kühlmittels besitzt, wobei zwischen der Düse (37) und einer die zweite Bahn (13) gegen die erste Bahn (11) auf dem Umfang des Formzylinders (15) pressenden Heizwalze (31) ein Schild (36) vorgesehenist.
    3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass mit Abstand zur Kühldüse (37) in der Laufrichtung des Formzylinders eine Luftdüse (39, 40) zum Aufblasen von Trockenluft vorgesehen ist.
