Die bisher übliche Verpackung von Obst, Tomaten usw. erforderte zur Brate Großpackungen, wie Spankörbe, Steigen und dergl. Siese ^erpaGkurigsart hatte zur Folge, daB die Lebensmittel zwischen dem Erzeuger und des Verbraucher wenigst ens zwei- oder dreimal in die Hände genomsien oder mit einer Kelle geschöpft wurden. Außerdem war es unvermeidbar, daB das Obst während des Verkaufs uad oft auch während des !Transportes dem Staub und Schmutz, den Einflüssen der Luft sowie den Insekten ausgesetzt war.
