The usual molding compounds made of polypropylene result in processing known molded parts that only have a relatively low level Have transparency.
The present invention is based on the knowledge that molding compounds made of polypropylene, which are 100 parts by weight Polypropylene 0.5 to 60, preferably 5 to 15, parts by weight of phosphates, pyrophosphates or phosphites of transition metals or, of metals of the I.,. II. Or III, group of the periodic system, can be processed into molded parts, which have a relatively high level of transparency,
Gruppe des Perioden-Systems enthalten,The invention accordingly relates to molding compositions Polypropylene, which are characterized in that they are on 100 parts by weight of polypropylene 0.5 to 60 parts by weight Phosphates, pyrophosphates or phosphites of transition metals or of metals of the I., II. or III. It is surprising that from such molding compounds - opposite comparable customary molding compounds - not only can molded parts with a considerably higher transparency be produced; but also molded parts that have increased softening temperatures, improved resistance to organic solvents and better ones Have tensile and tear strengths; the molding compounds also have increased flame resistance.
The following should be said in detail with regard to the phosphorus compounds of the molding compositions according to the invention: Is particularly suitable Zinc phosphate. Also suitable are, for example, cadmium, tin-II-, lead-II-, titanium-III-, vanadium-III-, chromium-III-, manganese-IV- and Ferric phosphate. Finally, copper (II), Silver-I-, Gold-I-, Mercury-II-, Germanium-IV-, Aluminum-III-, Zirconium IV, hafnium IV, thorium III, niobium III, tantalum III, Molybdenum-V-, tungsten-IV-, uranium-III-, chromium-II-, iron-II-, cobalt-II- as well as lithium, sodium, beryllium and magnesium phosphate. In addition, double salts from the corresponding can be used Phosphates, e.g. from zinc and sodium phosphate as well as mixtures of the specified phosphates. The same applies mutatis mutandis to the pyrophosphates and phosphites. Examples include: zinc, manganese IV and potassium pyrophosphate and cadmium aluminum III, Sodium and potassium phosphite.
Als Polypropylen-Komponente der erfindungsgemäßen Formmassen eignen sich die für Formmassen üblichen Polypropylene, insbesondere solche mit einer Intrinsic-Viskosität [V] von 3 bis 20.Suitable polypropylene components of the molding compositions according to the invention are the polypropylenes customary for molding compositions, in particular those with an intrinsic viscosity [V] of 3 to 20.

The molding compositions can be produced from the components under customary conditions using customary devices. Suitably, the molding compositions can be prepared, in a kneader mixer or a mixing screw press, wherein the working temperatures between I50 and 300 0 C, should preferably be between 170 to 220 0 C. It goes without saying that it is expedient to use the phosphorus compounds in as finely divided a form as possible.
Hilfsstoffe enthalten, z.B. Farbstoffe, Stabilisatoren und Gleitmittel. The molding compositions according to the invention can, in addition to the phosphates, Pyrophosphates or phosphites of transition metals or of metals of the I., II. or III. Group of the Periodic Table the usual additions or. Contain auxiliaries, e.g. dyes, stabilizers and lubricants.
The molding compounds can be used on the usual devices process the usual molded parts; the molding compounds are suitable especially for the production of foils and sealing parts.
The parts mentioned in the following examples are parts by weight.
Die noch heiße Mischung wird dann wie üblich zu PrüfkörpernTo 90 parts of granulated polypropylene with the intrinsic viscosity Ι * Μ = 1.0 10 parts of zinc pyrophosphate are added, whereupon the mixture is homogenized in a kneader at 195 ° C. for 5 minutes. The still hot mixture then becomes test specimens as usual
