Die bisher gebräuchlichen Preßluft-Gegenhalter haben den Nachteil, daß sie durch die von außen auf das Niet erfolgenden Schläge zurückfedern, und es dadurch vorkommt, daß der Gegenhalter, statt das Niet um den Kopf herum zu fassen, auf den letzteren zu stehen kommt, was ein deformiertes und undichtes Niet zur Folge hat. Der vorliegende Gegenhalter hat zwei Kolben wovon der eine ringförmig den andern umgibt. Die Preßluft tritt bei α ein und verteilt sich dann in die beiden Kanäle b und c. Ersterer kann entweder mit dem oberen Zylinder aus einem Stück hergestellt oder aber, wie aus der Zeichnung in punktierten Linien ersichtlich, durch einen Schlauch gebildet werden. Es wirkt dann die Luft auf den Ringkolben d und auf den Vollkolben e, beide nach vorwärts drückend. Der Ringkolben d ist an seinem unteren Ende mit gehärteten Stahlspitzen f versehen, welche sich so tief in den zu nietenden Gegenstand eindrücken, daß sie den Gegenhalter genau in der vom Arbeiter eingestellten Lage festhalten, während der Vollkolben e das Festhalten des Nietes besorgt. Auch dieser Kolben wird, ebenso wie bei den gewöhnlichen Gegenhaltern mit einfachem Kolben, bei den ersten Schlägen auf das Niet zurückfedern, muß aber, durch die Stahlspitzen/ in seiner Lage gehalten, immer wieder auf den Nietkopf zurückkommen.The present counter-holder has two pistons, one of which surrounds the other in a ring shape.
