Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Schachtofen zur Müllverbrennung, bei dem das Müll aus dem nach unten kegelförmig zusammengezogenen Schacht plötzlich in eine weite Verbrennungskammer niedersinkt, in die Feuergase und Verbrennungsluft eingeleitet werden, so dafs das Müll der Wirkung einer dasselbe allseitig umspülenden Stichflamme ausgesetzt wird. Hierdurch soll ein Erlöschen verhindert und andererseits eine vollständige Verbrennung der brennbaren, sowie ein Zusammenschmelzen der übrigen Stoffe des Mülls erzielt werden. Der Betrieb des Ofens ist ein fortlaufender. Zur Sicherung einer geregelten Zuführung können in dem Schacht geeignete Rüttelroste oder andere zweckmäfsige Vorrichtungen vorgesehen werden. Ebenso empfiehlt es sich, zur Vortrocknung des Mülls und zur Verkokung leicht brennbarer Stoffe desselben, wie Papier oder dergl., sowie zwecks Auflockerung der Müllsäule in den Schacht heifse Luft einzuführen und zur Verhinderung des Abreifsens der Müllsäule den unteren Theil des Ofenschachtes kegelstumpfartig zu gestalten.The invention relates to a shaft furnace for incineration, in which the garbage from the downwardly conically contracted shaft suddenly into a wide combustion chamber sinks, into which fire gases and combustion air are introduced, so that the garbage of the effect of one is the same on all sides is exposed to a jet of flames.
