Da das Polyäthylenglycol in hohem Grade hydrophil ist, besteht bei Verwendung derartiger Nährmedien in sehr viel geringerem Umfang als bisher die Notwendigkeit, auf gleichmäßige Feuchtigkeitsbedingungen in der Außenatmosphäre zu achten.
