Die vorliegende Zucker - Stofsmaschine für rangirten Zucker besteht aus folgenden, in Fig. 1 und 2 der Zeichnungen dargestellten Mechanismen: Auf ein festes Holzgestell A sind die beiden Lagerböcke ρ aufgeschraubt, welche in ihren Lagern die Welle 0 tragen. Auf dieser Welle 0 sind zwei schräge Scheiben α von genau gleichem Hube aufgekeilt, welche die zwei Messerbalken c durch die Hebel b in eine ganz gleichmäfsige Bewegung setzen. An die Messerbalken c, welche zur Verminderung der Reibung und behufs genauer Führung auf Rollen i gleiten, sind die Messer m befestigt, welche zu gleicher Zeit die ihnen vorliegende Zuckerstange angreifen und Stücke von beliebig zu bestimmender Länge abspalten. Die Zuckerstange ist gewöhnlich ein Parallelepipedon von 26 mm quadratischem Querschnitt und 500 mm Länge; sie wird seitlich in den beiden Leisten h geführt und liegt in dem Kanal k vor der Zahnstange /, welche durch die Sperrklinke η vorgeschoben wird. Zur Bewegung der Sperrklinke 11 ist auf der Welle ο ein Excenter d befestigt und durch eine Stange mit dem Hebel e in Verbindung gebracht, welcher Hebel auf der Welle g sitzt, wodurch diese also, gleichwie die Welle 0 bewegt wird. Auf der Welle g sitzt der Hebel /, welcher die Sperrklinke führt.
