Description
Process for bleaching with neutral or weakly alkaline adjusted Chlorite solutions The present invention relates to a method for bleaching with chlorites; the process consists in treating the bleached material with a weak alkaline or neutral amino acid-containing chlorite solution soaks and then dampens.
Amino acids come in for the practice of the present invention primarily aminocarboxylic acids and aminosulfonic acids and their substitution products into consideration. Suitable representatives are e.g. B. aminoacetic acid, methylaminoacetic acid, Aminoethanesulfonic acid or methylaminoethanesulfonic acid. The chlorite-containing liquor is adjusted to neutral or slightly alkaline before starting the bleaching process.
The required amounts of amino acids can be determined by preliminary tests easily ascertain from case to case; The following examples provide clues evident.
There are already methods known in which the bleached material with a Chlorite solution is impregnated, which contains methylaminoethanesulfonic acid and adjusted to be acidic is, or where the bleaching material, which with aMethylaminoäthansulfonsäure containing chlorite solution is soaked, is steamed in an atmosphere that Also contains formic acid or acetic acid.
Compared to this method, the method according to the invention has which the bleached material with a slightly alkaline or neutral set amino acid Chlorite solution is soaked and steamed without the additional use of acid, the advantage that practically no odor nuisance from escaping chlorine dioxide gases occurs and that the risk of corrosion of the bleaching equipment is considerably reduced is.
The process according to the invention has the same advantage over the likewise known procedure for bleaching with chlorites, in which baths are used which are neutral or slightly alkaline and contain esters of organic acids. EXAMPLE 1 A desized cotton nettle containing peel is soaked in a solution which contains 18 g of 80% sodium chlorite, 4 g of surface-active paraffin sulfonate, 5 g of acid sodium pyrophosphate and 3 g of aminoacetic acid and has a pH of 7 to 8 per liter. The fabric is then squeezed off to a weight increase of 100 ° / p and then held at 90 to 95 ° C. in a steam atmosphere for 3 to 4 hours. Finally, the fabric is rinsed as usual; it is then excellently bleached and the cotton peel is completely removed. Example 2 A cotton cord containing shells is impregnated with a solution which contains 18 g of 80% sodium chlorite, 4 g of surface-active paraffin sulfonate, 4 g of acid sodium pyrophosphate and 1 g of aminoethanesulfonic acid and has a pH of 7 to 8 per liter. Then the tissue to 1000 /, weight gain is squeezed off, and then kept in a steam atmosphere for 3 to 4 hours at 90 to 95 ° C. Finally, the fabric is rinsed as usual; it is then excellently bleached and the cotton peels are removed at the same time.
