Die im Gebrauch befindlichen Zeichenwinkel für 30,45,60 und 90⁹ genügen in der Praxis nicht. Nicht selten müssen auch andere Winkel an die Horizontale gelegt werden. Man half sich in solchen Fällen dadurch, dafs die Reifsschiene schräg auf das Brett gelegt wurde. Abgesehen davon, dafs die Reifsschiene in dieser Lage keine Stützfläche an der Kante des waagrecht oder schwach geneigt liegenden Reifsbretts hatte, war dieses Hülfsmittel bei aufrecht stehenden Reifsbrettern überhaupt nicht angängig.
