Die Abdichtung von Mauerwerk und Beton gegen Wasser durch Aufbringen eines Kunststoffüberzuges ist bereits bekannt. In der Regel verwendet man hierfür wäßrige Dispersionen hydrophober Kunststoffe oder deren Lösungen in organischen Lösungsmitteln. Diese Überzüge haben nur begrenzte Wirkungsdauer, da sie allmählich verwittern. Das gilt besonders für diejenigen Kunststoffe, die zwar gut abdichten, aber durch Wasser aufgequollen werden, wie z. B. Mittel aufträgt. Als solche kommen z. B. Salze mehrwertiger Metalle in Frage, die mit den Mischpolymerisaten
unlösliche Salze bilden. Bei der Anwendung des Verfahrens auf kalkhaltigen Verputz oder Beton
ergibt sich dieser Effekt von selbst. Durch Zusatz keimtötender Mittel, wie z. B. Phenole, wird eine
