Description

Differential amplifiers, in particular for use as direct current amplifiers with two controllable electronic semiconductor components The invention relates to a differential amplifier, in particular for use as a direct current amplifier with two controllable electronic semiconductor components in the form of transistors.

In electronic control technology are increasingly used Differential amplifier used. One requirement underlying this trend is the smaller temperature dependency of the semiconductor components. The temperature dependence namely has the consequence that every change in temperature an increased offset current at the input terminals of the circuit. This is therefore very undesirable because this current causes a voltage drop across the passive ones in the input circuit Switching elements and thereby the control voltage applied to the input falsified. If there is an undesirable voltage change at the input terminals the ground potential occurs, this error appears at the output of the amplifier increased by the gain factor.

It is an object of this invention to provide an amplifier that the avoids mentioned disadvantages of known arrangements. This happens according to the invention in that the bases of the transistors by means of one or more series-connected DC sources are connected in series and that in a manner known per se one npn and one pnp transistor with galvanic interconnection of their emitters are connected in series and their collectors each have a collector resistor are at oppositely directed DC voltage potentials.

The differential amplifier according to the invention has various. advantages compared to previously known arrangements. Because the control voltage is symmetrical the two bases of two transistors is placed, this voltage is independent of superimposed potential fluctuations. It is therefore irrelevant which potential have both input terminals to ground or the extent to which these voltages differ change compared to the ground potential. By one or more in series connection DC sources inserted in both bases are given different, ground-free potentials supplied without having to rely on complicated voltage divider circuits which in turn would then have to be earth-free.

The invention is explained using a drawing.

The drawing shows an npn transistor 1 and a pnp transistor 2, the emitters of which are galvanically connected to one another. The collector of the npn transistor 1 is connected to a positive DC voltage via a collector resistor 5, and the collector of the pnp transistor 2 is connected to a negative DC voltage via a collector resistor 6. The base of the transistor 1 is connected to the base of the transistor 2 via the two direct current sources 3, 4.

The control voltage U, is applied to the two bases of the transistors 1, 2 via the two input terminals 7, 8. The input terminals are not referenced to ground, which is why the voltage can be applied floating. The emitter-collector current flowing through both transistors 1, 2 is determined by the current flowing through both bases. It is irrelevant what potential the bases have with respect to ground. If there is a change in the potential of the voltage applied to the input of the amplifier, the modulation of the amplifier is not changed. The output terminals 9, 10 of the amplifier are connected to the two collectors of the transistors. The increased voltages can be picked up between these two terminals or between one of these terminals and one of the two supply voltage sides.
