Description

Method of making colored vulcanized fiber sheets During manufacture black, red or brown vulcanized fiber base papers are mixed with inorganic or Dyed organic dyes, with fixators added in many cases will. The now colored paper is then made using known methods Parchmented in 700 / yr cold sulfuric acid or 70% warm zinc chloride solution.

Furthermore, a method is known in which the dyeing and embossing of vulcanized fiber parchment after parchment in sulfuric acid, but before Drying is carried out.

Should white or light-colored papers, e.g. B. from pure linters raw materials, are dyed in the Dutch, so this results from the technical side great difficulties than the fine paper mills in the Dutch only in exceptional cases color in darker shades. It is also an advantage to have a large supply different colored papers, which are made in relatively large quantities need to avoid. It is therefore very beneficial to have these white or light colored Coloring papers in the parchment bath while the parchment is being applied.

However, this coloring during the parchment is also available to the extent that it faces great difficulties, as on the one hand in the highly concentrated acidic bath solution flocculate the organic dyes used and on the other hand prevented by the swelling of the cellulose fiber in the parchment bath is that these dyes are completely absorbed and when removing the vulcanized fiber bleed out of the parchment bath.

So z. I, S. 428, 7. It has now been found that light, absorbent papers or cellulose webs, consisting of cellulose, rags, cellulose fibers or mixtures thereof, can be colored directly in the parchment bath if you use water-soluble azo dyes, e.g. B. Siriusrosa BB (Color-Index, 2nd edition, 1956, No. 25, 380), water-soluble indulins and nigrosines (Azine dyes, Schultz, Dye Table, 7th Edition, VIII. Azine Dye, Class 5 No. 984 and 986 -Color Index 865) or indanthrene dyes according to Color-Index 71 140 are used for coloring. These dyes are gradually brought to the concentration of the parchment bath. So z. For example, the dyeing takes place in a parchment bath, in which the dyestuff made into a paste in water is gradually brought from 20% bath concentration (zinc chloride) to the final concentration of 70% zinc chloride. The predominantly light-colored paper is drawn through this bath, parchmented and colored at the same time. Example 1 2 parts by weight of a water-soluble nigrosine (Nigrosin WLA, Schultz, color tables, WL No. 986, Vol. I, p. 428, 7th edition [1931]) are made into a paste in 5 parts by weight of water and then in 16 parts of a 20% strength Aqueous zinc chloride solution introduced. This zinc chloride solution provided with the dye is now added to 28 parts of 40% strength aqueous zinc chloride solution. Then the total amount is introduced into 150 parts of a highly concentrated aqueous zinc chloride solution so that the final concentration of zinc chloride is 70%. The paper is pulled through this parchment bath and a deep black vulcanized fiber is obtained, which has a real coloration.

Beispiel 2 0,6 Gewichtsteile (ScharlachR, Schultz, Farbstofftabelle, Nr. 98, Bd. I, S.53, 7. Example 2 0.6 parts by weight (ScharlachR, Schultz, color table, No. 98, Vol. I, p.53, 7th edition [1931]) are, as indicated in Example 1, in brought in the parchment bath. It will be at the desired parchment temperature heated and pulled through the cellulose web to be dyed. The vulcanized fiber is made with stained a deep brick red.

Beispiel 3 1,2 Gewichtsteile eines wasserlöslichen Azofarbstoffes (Siriusrosa BB, Schultz, Farbstofftabelle, Ergänzungsband I, S. 132, 7. Example 3 1.2 parts by weight of a water-soluble azo dye (Siriusrosa BB, Schultz, color table, supplementary volume I, p. 132, 7th edition [1934]) will be, as indicated in Example 1, in the parchment bath brought. The result is a brick-red, genuinely colored volcanic fiber.
