Schaumkunststoffen, im Handel, die das Gleiten der damit unterlegten Teppiche mehr oder minder wirksam verhindern. Die Kieselsäure liegt in der Dispersion in sehr feiner kolloider Verteilung und zweckmäßig in einer Konzentration von 1 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent vor. Als Ausgangsstoffe für das erfindungsgemäß verwendete Sprühmittel besonders geeignet sind die wäßrigen Siliciumdioxyddispersionen mit einem Gehalt von 14 bis 25 Prozent der kolloiden Kieselsäure. In den verwendeten wäßrigen Dispersionen kann das Wasser weitgehend durch andere mit Wasser mischbare Flüssigkeiten, wie z. B. niedrigsiedende Alkohole, ersetzt werden, um die Verdunstung des flüssigen Trägermaterials zu erleichtern. Zur Verbesserung der Haftung der hochdispersen Kieselsäure auf der Unterseite der Teppiche können der Dispersion geringe Mengen wasser-oder alkohollöslicher Kleb- oder Verdickungsmittel, wie Dextrin, Carboxyäthylcellulose, Polyvinylacetate oder Polyvinylälkohol, Polyacrylsäure oder deren Alkalisalze, zugesetzt werden.
