In der Figur ist der Einfachheit halber nur ein Kletterhaken gezeigt; praktisch dient das Gerät der Aufnahme einer Vielzahl von Kletterhaken, auch unterschiedlicher Ausführungsform, wie sie für eine Klettertour benötigt werden. Um einen bestimmten Haken aus dem Vorrat auswählen zu können, ist es lediglich erforderlich, die Haken von der einen Seite der Federn 3, 4 auf die andere Seite umzusetzen, bis der benötigte Haken für die Entnahme ansteht. Mittels der Ösen 5 wird das Gerät z. B. an einer Schnur (Reepschnur) des Kletterers aufgehängt.
