The tool (8,8a,8b) has a cutting head (9) and is mounted between wedge-shaped jaws (57) engaging jaws (56) sliding in a guide housing (40). The position measuring and fine setting system for the milling cutter includes tool pressure sensors (35,52). There is a control circuit (16) and several sets of piezoelectric micro-actuators (30,31,51) and elastic supports (45,46,58).
