Abstract

The release mechanism has a permanent magnet (46), for holding a release device in a retention position in which the spring drive is tensioned and an electromagnet (48), supplied with current for overcoming the magnetic force of the permanent magnet, to allow the release device to move into a released position, for operation of the spring drive. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a spring drive component group for a device for raising the hood of an automobile engine compartment; and (b) a device for raising the hood of an automobile engine compartment.
