Description

The invention relates to a pickling solution for pickling objects made of iron. All iron parts, the surface of which is subjected to a subsequent enamelling must, as is well known have a metallically pure surface. Are these parts through one operation (Deformation) come into contact with fatty substances, this pollution must can be removed by annealing or by chemical means. Only then does the actual pickling process, usually with hydrochloric or sulfuric acid solutions is made in a certain concentration. The pickling removes rust and scale detached, and the duration of the pickling process normally depends on the concentration, in the case of sulfuric acid, it also depends on the temperature of the pickling bath.

The invention relates to a pickling solution for pickling iron sheets before enamelling; it consists in the known and customary pickling solutions Alkali borofluorides and / or borofluorides of metals are added. It is known, that fluorine compounds, boric acid or perborates are added to pickling solutions. around z. B. Metal objects with a protective layer against the harmful effects of air and to protect water or to roughen surfaces of metals in order to render them as aggressive To make the transmission part more grippy. It is z. B. the strong oxidizing effect the perborate applied. The perborates, however, are sought there precisely because of them oxidizing effect in the subject matter of the invention is harmful and undesirable. The invention on the other hand opens up some significant improvements and advantages in preparation of sheet iron for the subsequent enamelling.

First of all, the new pickling solution has the advantage of a very considerable one Timing of the pickling process, which, as is known, also due to the higher acid concentration, thus increased effort is to be achieved. Long pickling times harbors the risk of that the iron absorbs hydrogen, which is considerable in subsequent enamelling Causes trouble.

Furthermore, the invention has the considerable advantage that the Soaking time and the neutralization time are significantly shortened «- earth and even can come completely in failure. As is well known, the stained objects must, if they are then to be enamelled, previously a soaking bath for a long time and then exposed to a neutralization bath to remove the remaining in the iron To remove or neutralize acid residues (or their salts). why now A quick rinse with water and a quick boil in an alkali bath is sufficient.

Furthermore, the invention has the advantage that in the following Enamelling no rusting of the pickled parts occurs, so that always a smooth one The base surface is present and the so-called »copper heads« no longer appear can. Exemplary embodiment Sheets degreased by annealing at about 500 to 600 ° C were then placed in a pickling bath for 5 minutes at the same temperature as the bath Pickled at about 20 ° C. The pickling bath contained 2 parts of water and 1 part of 31% hydrochloric acid with an addition of 1% sodium borofluoride and 1% nickel borofluoride. After the pickling process the sheets were rinsed in cold running water and used for the subsequent Dried enamelling. The sheet metal parts could be enamelled without any problems.
