Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren/eine Vorrichtung zur Verbesserung der Wahrnehmung, Warnung und Orientierung des Fahrers insbesondere beim Rückwärtsfahren. Typischerweise orientiert sich ein Mensch auch am Gehör – insbesondere nimmt er hierdurch Warngeräusche war. Jedoch ist normalerweise das Ziel bei der Auto-Entwicklung den Fahrer möglichst gut von Außergeräuschen abzuschirmen. Dies ist insbesondere hinderlich beim Rückwärtsfahren, wobei die Sicht stark eingeschränkt sein kann. Man denke nur an Situationen wie z.B. wenn man einen Kombi hinten voll Gepäck für den Urlaub geladen hat. In anderen Situationen kommen die Fahrer schon selber auf eine Teillösung des Problems. Zum Beispiel beim Rangieren mit einem Anhänger, der sehr lang ist (wie z.B. ein Bootsanhänger), ist es hilfreich das Fahrerfenster zu öffnen, da man im Allgemeinen dann einen anderen Verkehrsteilnehmer erst hört – bevor man ihn sieht. So kann man rechtzeitig beim Rückwärtsfahren anhalten. Bei viele Kleinlasterfahrer im Lieferverkehr kann man auch beobachten, dass sie das Fahrerfenster geöffnet haben beim Rückwärtsfahren. Fährt man mit Einweiser rückwärts, so kann dieser Handzeichen geben oder muß laut rufen, damit der Fahrer in selbst bei geöffnetem Fenster noch versteht. In allen beschriebenen Fällen wäre es also hilfreich für die Wahrnehmung des Fahrers die rückwärtigen Geräusche an den Fahrer weiterzugeben. Bei einer Stereoübertragung wird vorzugsweise der räumliche Eindruck im Auto nachgebildet, um dem Fahrer die räumliche Orientierung zum anderen Verkahrsteilnehmer zu ermöglichen.
