Es sind Plattenwechsler bekannt, bei denen der an einem Ausleger hängend gehalterte Plattenstapel auf einer Achse in der Verlängerung der Plattentellerachse ruht. Die Plattenstapelachse ist entweder fest angeordnet oder wird durch Einsetzen in einen Ausleger gehaltert, der in der Verlängerung der Plattentellerachse eine Aussparung aufweist, in die der Plattenstapel von unten in den Ausleger einsetzbar ist und so· über den Plattenteller zu hängen kommt. Das Auffädeln der einzelnen Platten von unten auf die fest angeordnete Plattenstapelachse ist jedoch umständlich, ebenso wie bei der anderen Plattenwechslerkonstruktion das Einsetzen der vollen Plattenstapelachse von unten in die Aussparung des Auslegers. Ein weiterer Mangel derartiger Plattenwechsler besteht darin, daß die vom Plattenstapel auf den Plattenteller abgeworfenen Platten zum Abspielen übereinander auf den Plattenteller gestapelt werden und so nur das Abspielen einer verhältnismäßig geringen Anzahl Schallplatten —· maximal von zehn bis zwölf Schallplatten — ermöglicht wird, weil durch die Plattenanhäufung einerseits ein Absinken der Drehzahl und andererseits eine starke Schräglage der Abtastnadel herbeigeführt wird. Diesen Mangel weisen auch Plattenwechsler auf, bei denen die Plattenstapelachse senkrecht zur Achsrichtung des Plattenstapels in den Ausleger einsetzbar ist.
