Description

The present invention relates to a device for screening compost, so that stones and large roots in particular can be filtered out of the compost in order to obtain humus.

Sieves are known in the prior art, with which compost can be sieved in order to obtain humus. Here, the sieves are shaken by hand and in this way stones and larger roots are filtered out of the compost. The patent document FR 2 692 820 A1 describes a wheelbarrow on which a device for screening can be placed. The sieving device can be set in motion by a hand crank.

Sieving compost by hand is tedious. There is also a risk of back injury for the user as the compost is a relatively heavy material that needs to be moved around.

The object is therefore to provide a device by which the sifting of compost to produce hummus is simplified. In particular, possible health hazards should be excluded.

As a solution to the problem, a device for screening compost is provided, comprising: a container for receiving compost, the bottom of the container being at least partially designed as a sieve, and a rail, the container being able to be moved on the rail, any number of rollers or runners being arranged on the container, on which the container can be moved on the rail or rails.

Moving on rails makes it easier to move back and forth for the screening process.

Exemplary embodiments are described in the dependent claims.

According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a device is provided, wherein the container has a receiving opening, the upper base area of which is larger than the base area of the container and/or wherein at least one side of the receiving opening is inclined to the side walls of the container.

The inclination of the side faces of the receiving opening makes it easier to fill the device with compost.

According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a device is made available, in which the container is designed to be tiltable with respect to the rail and/or in which the container is arranged on any number of rails.

Because the container can be tilted relative to its rails, the container can be emptied without physical exertion.

According to a further embodiment of the present invention, a device is made available, wherein a bag for collecting humus is arranged on the container.

According to a further exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a device is made available in which the sieve is arranged so that it can be removed from the container, as a result of which a suitable sieve with a particularly adapted hole diameter can be used as required.

Due to the fact that the screen can be removed from the device, a screen can be inserted into the container for the respective case, which screen has, for example, the desired hole diameter.

In a further embodiment according to the invention, a device is made available, wherein the device can be placed on the trough of a wheelbarrow.

According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a device is provided, the device having legs to allow a wheelbarrow to be placed under the device.

According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a device is provided in which the receiving opening is funnel-shaped.

As a result, the compost to be screened can simply be filled into the container 4 . Wheels or rollers 3 are arranged on the container 4 so that it can be moved back and forth on rails 2 . As a result, the material in the container 4 is set in motion, as a result of which it can be screened by means of a sieve 6 which forms the bottom of the container 4 . The rails 2 are held at a suitable distance by ledges 1, which ledges 1 also act as a stop for the container 4.

The 2 shows the same device in a perspective view from above, the bottom of the container 4 being designed as a sieve 6 . The container 4 is moved on rails 2 by means of wheels 3, in an alternative embodiment the container 4 having skids instead of wheels or rollers 3. The container 4 has a widened receiving opening 5, with the receiving opening 5 protruding alternatively only on one side beyond the base of the container 4 or on two sides of the container 4 or on all four sides of the container 4. A wheelbarrow can be arranged under the device according to the invention, for which purpose legs are arranged on the device according to the invention in such a way that a wheelbarrow can be driven under the device according to the invention. Alternatively, the device according to the invention can be placed on a wheelbarrow, whereby the composted humus is poured directly into the trough of the wheelbarrow.

The inventive device is filled with the raw material from the compost heap and the container 4 is shaken back and forth by means of the rollers 3 so that the finely sieved finished humus finally ends up in the trough of the wheelbarrow and can be used as fertilizer in the garden. The coarse material, such as stones or roots, remains in the container 4 and can be emptied into a collection container that is available. For this purpose, the container 4 can be raised and emptied over the corresponding collection container. This allows the compost material to be screened.

4 shows an alternative embodiment with a tiltable container 4, so that the screened material, ie stones and large roots, can be easily emptied from the container 4. For this purpose, the device according to the invention has no bar 1 but only stops 7 . As a result, the container 4 can be pivoted by 90°, for example.

This results in a free space 11, as a result of which, in particular, the widened receiving opening 5 can be tilted downwards. In a further alternative embodiment, the inventive device has handles for manual lifting onto a wheelbarrow. The handles can be arranged on the container 4 in particular. In a further alternative embodiment, the screen 6 can be removed from the container 4 . This makes it possible, in particular, for different screens 6 to be used, which are distinguished by different hole diameters.
