Mikroorganismen wie das Coronavirus COVID-19 haben keine Resistenzmechanismen gegen hochenergetische, kurzwellige UVC-Emissionen, mit Wellenlängen von 50 bis 300 nm. Diese Tatsache verhindert die Reproduktion der Zellen oder tötet sie sogar ab.
