Abstract

Door handle for opening and closing door leaves, consisting of the combination of a part intended for mounting on the door leaf and a part intended for mounting on the frame complementing this door, which engage with each other when the door is closed. Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a handle intended in particular for the quick and safe closing of machine doors and flaps.

STATE OF THE ART

In the broad field of handles, locking handle systems for doors, windows and machine hatches in a composite construction are known, in which a part intended for mounting on the door and a part intended for mounting on the frame are provided, which engage with each other when the door is closed.

To ensure a secure closure, locking elements are usually mounted on one of the two parts, which engage with corresponding recesses in the other part so that the lock is permanently locked.

Simpler snap devices for holding a door in its frame are also known, with a recess for receiving it on one side and a spring-driven ball on the other side.

Many types of handles are designed to use coded magnets that enable a security check to prevent the door leaf from opening accidentally relative to the frame.

However, these devices are inevitably made of metal, which has obvious disadvantages in terms of manufacturing costs and weather resistance.

Locking systems are also known that consist of two opposing parts, each attached to the door or frame side, where the locking engagement is ensured by physical contact between one and the other. A magnetic locking system is provided to hold the door leaf closed: the magnets on the handle side act on metal plates on the fixed side, keeping the door closed.

Such a handle has two problems that at least require an improvement of the device or, in some cases, even preclude its use.

The first problem concerns safety, since the locking magnets can contaminate the magnetic field of the coded magnets and make their functionality unsafe; in any case, such a system is more sensitive to external metallic masses that can act on all the magnets present and cause possible malfunctions.

The second problem is that the locking mechanism is secured by the mutual contact of the elements located on the door and frame sides, without any additional support element. Therefore, the risk of misalignment between the two elements is quite high, for example, in the case of a particularly heavy door and plastic hinges. This certainly results in an unsightly appearance, but above all, there is a potential risk of a change in the distances for activating the magnets, which can lead to a disruption of the locking and locking function.

The purpose of this invention is therefore to provide a door handle for locking a door to a frame without the disadvantages listed above. To this end, perfect alignment between the coded magnets and the corresponding detection elements located on either side of the handle is ensured, thus ensuring the correct positioning of the entire locking system, while simultaneously ensuring that it cannot be subjected to burglary or vandalism.

This purpose is achieved by a door handle for opening and closing, of composite construction, consisting of a combination of a part to be mounted on the door and a part to be mounted on the frame belonging to this door, which engage with each other and are held closed by snap-in elements when the door is closed, characterized in that it consists of a part intended for mounting on a closing door leaf and a part intended for mounting on a frame, which, when the door leaf is closed, engage with each other in a snap-in manner, in that the first-mentioned part consists of a substantially box-shaped, irregular and curved base element on which a V-profile is seated, the front part of which covers the base element and on the rear part of which there is an appendage designed to have a cavity underneath which facilitates the gripping and handling of this part belonging to the handle, and in that the second-mentioned part is substantially a rectangular edge with a raised front section, which consists of a shaped upper housing and a base for receiving a printed circuit board equipped with reed switches and a a light diffuser covered LED, when connecting the two parts when the handle is in the closed position, essentially creating a single part.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

How As can be seen, the handle 1 consists of a part 2 for mounting on the closing door leaf (not shown) and a part 3 for mounting on the frame (not shown), which, when the door is closed, engage with each other to hold the door in place.

The clearly demonstrate the special design of the handle, which has a particularly compact shape and is therefore useful for reducing space requirements in work environments that are not always easy to access; it also shows that the part of the body used to open the door is protected from the machine, thanks to a cavity 4 on the underside of the handle for gripping. Side posts 5 for housing the fixing screws (not shown) are also present to the side of the cavity 4.

Like the As can be clearly seen, part 2 comprises a base element 2a, at the uppermost portion of which is an ergonomic handle section 2b. It essentially consists of a V-shaped irregular profile that partially covers the base element 2a, so that these elements together effectively form a single part.

Part 3, in turn, is essentially a rectangular piece with a raised front section to facilitate proper connection, interlocking, and locking with Part 2 in the designated area. Understandably, the shape is designed so that the handle essentially becomes a single piece in the closed position.

As in As can be seen better, part 3 consists of a shaped upper housing 6 and a base element 7 for receiving a printed circuit board 8 which is equipped with four reed switches 9 and an LED 10 on which a diffuser 11 is located.

As in shown and partly already described above, part 2 consists of a box base 16, above which one of the two arms of an element in the form of a double hyperbola starting at the rear of this base element 16 is located, while the other arm, projecting backwards, forms the above-mentioned ergonomic handle section 2b.

At the front, the element 16 has a pair of grooves opposite the lateral ends for vertically receiving the tongue 17 projecting from the posts 18, and These tongues are held together by a vertical web 19.

Finally, part 2 contains a bridge 20, on which a pair of magnets 21 sits on the same surface. The bridge is inserted vertically so that the magnets 21 face each other to connect with their corresponding counterparts located on part 3, which is mounted on the frame. The bridge is secured by a synthetic resin coating.

To secure part 2 to the movable door, elongated holes (not shown in the figure) are provided at the rear end of this part 2 in a cavity 22 for concealed insertion of the fastening screws. A pressure-fitted cap 23 reduces the accumulation of chips, dust, or other foreign matter in this cavity. Finally, a cover 24 is provided to keep the interlocking magnetic and mechanical elements, 22 and 17, correctly aligned with part 2.

In order to ensure the correct sealing of the device and to prevent external influences from causing a malfunction of the invented device, it is provided in the final steps of the device construction to seal with synthetic resin all elements that can be sealed, i.e. the base element 7 for receiving the printed circuit board 8 on the housing 6 and the magnets 21 in their receptacles in part 2.

To avoid unauthorized interference, the magnets 21 are preferably coded magnets that generate a non-replicable magnetic field.

Once constructed, the assembly of this handle is very simple, as it simply requires drilling holes in the walls where the two parts 2 and 3, respectively on the door and the frame, will be attached. The two elements will then be positioned and secured with screws, and the cover 23 can be closed if necessary. To reduce the risk of the handle constructed in this way suffering any misalignment over time, even if imperceptible, it is advisable to insert metal reinforcement plates in the oblong holes. This ensures with sufficient certainty that the tightening torque is always high enough not to be affected by the vibrations to which the handle is subjected, thus essentially eliminating the risk of the handle shifting over time.

The handle described here can be made of a plastic with sufficient strength and elasticity. In particular, the centering elements should preferably be made of POM or another material with similar physical properties.

During operation, part 3 mounted on the frame element remains inactive until part 2 comes into contact with it. The magnetic field generated by the magnets 21 excites the reed switches 9, which change their state (from NO to NC and vice versa) and emit a signal connected to a safety module indicating whether a guard to which the handle is attached is open or not. If necessary, the change in state—for example, if the state of the reed switches 9 is changed by opening the door when the device is operating within the frame—can trigger an alarm. Simultaneously with the change in state, the indicator LED 10 lights up or goes out, emitting a different optical signal.

The described method is achieved by the interaction of coded magnets, whereby specific magnets can be recognized by the specific reed switch and any magnet is prevented from energizing this reed switch.

It should be noted that the tongues 17 on the part 3 mounted on the door leaf, which, thanks to their design, are suitable for both hinged and sliding doors, engage with the grooves of the part 2 mounted on the frame, keeping the door closed and thus also providing the locking function of the door. Seals can be used to ensure sealing and protection from the elements.

It should also be emphasized that, in order to further ensure the correct connection between the two parts 2 and 3, along the connecting surface of part 2 which engages with part 3, i.e. on the underside of the front appendage, there are grooves 2c which are pushed onto the central guide elements 15, thus ensuring the maintenance of the correct position of the two handle parts and therefore of the door and the frame relative to each other when closing a sliding door, eliminating unsightly appearance, functional doubts or even the effects of equipment wear or material relaxation.

The tongues 17 also have an additional function, namely the protection of the resin-coated glass tubes of the reed switches 9: the flexibility of the tongue 18 makes it possible to absorb to a large extent any shocks that could, over time, cause damage to the reed switches and thus malfunction.

In order to be able to close hinged doors, as shown in the shown, center Elements in the form of plates are provided in the engaging connection area of said parts 2, 3 forming the handle. These plates each consist of two pairs of strips 25 located on the inner side surfaces of the engaging connection area provided in said part 2, and sheets 26 located on the surfaces of part 3 engaging in said part 2.

From the above description it can be seen that the intended purpose has been achieved, namely the invention of a handle which enables the correct and precise interaction between the frame and the door leaf by correctly aligning the handle elements on the frame and door sides and in any case providing safety precautions against deliberate destruction.

It will be understood, however, that various embodiments are conceivable, all of which are within the capabilities of a person skilled in the art and within the scope of the invention as defined in the claims below.

For example, the description mentions four reed switches, but it is possible to provide any number of reed switches.

Claims (8)

Handle for closing doors and flaps, of the type comprising a part (2) for mounting on a closing door leaf and a part (3) for mounting on a frame, which engage one another when the closing door leaf is in the closed position, characterized in that said part (2) consists of a substantially box-shaped base element (2a) on which sits an irregular, curved V-profile, the front part of which covers the base element (2a) and the rear part of which has an appendage (2b) designed in such a way that a hollow space (4) is located underneath which facilitates the gripping and operation of said part (2) belonging to the handle. and that said part (3) is substantially a rectangle with a raised front portion, said part (3) consisting of a shaped upper housing (6) and a base (7) for receiving a printed circuit board (8) provided with reed switches (9) and an LED (10) located in a diffuser (11), the combination of the two parts forming substantially a single element when said handle is in the closed position.
