Abstract

A retractable table arrangement (10) for a vehicle seat (100) is described, comprising a height-adjustable bracket (12) and at least one table element (14). The table arrangement (10) is designed in a stowed position as a retractable insert (10') which can be received or accommodated in an insert carrier (20) arranged in the vehicle seat (100).

Description

The invention relates to an extendable table arrangement for a vehicle seat, comprising a height-adjustable bracket and at least one table element. The invention further relates to a vehicle seat with such a table arrangement and a motor vehicle with such a vehicle seat.

Folding and/or extendable tables are known from the prior art, which can either be folded out from the front seat or extended from a seating element such as a center console or a vehicle seat.

For table designs that can be extended from a seating element (for example, a center console), the unfolding mechanism is usually very complex and requires four to six steps to use the table as a storage surface. This takes up a significant amount of space in the center console. There is also an increased risk of misuse when folding and unfolding the table.

Furthermore, in these designs, the table is attached laterally. If, for example, a laptop (weighing 2 to 4 kg) is placed on the table, it becomes wobbly. The limited space in the center console ultimately leads to the components being made rather thin, which negatively impacts stability and the perceived quality.

The object underlying the invention is therefore seen as providing an improved table arrangement that enables optimal positioning, space-saving storage, as well as efficient extension/retraction and folding/unfolding.

This problem is solved by a table arrangement, a vehicle seat, and a vehicle with the features of the respective independent patent claim. Advantageous embodiments with expedient further developments are specified in the dependent patent claims.

The proposal therefore includes a retractable table arrangement for a vehicle seat with a height-adjustable bracket and at least one table element. The table arrangement is designed as a retractable insert in its stowed position, which is accommodated or held in a slide-in support located in the vehicle seat.

The table assembly, designed as a slide-in unit in its stowed position, can be easily stored as a compact unit within the vehicle seat without requiring any additional space. The slide-in mechanism is easily accessible and can be extended and retracted independently of the front seat position.

The table arrangement can be foldable. More precisely, in its stored position, the table arrangement can have the support and the table element in a folded state. Furthermore, in its used position, the table arrangement can have the support and the table element in an unfolded state.

The insert support and the insert itself can be positioned centrally on the underside of the vehicle seat. This advantageous positioning allows for a simpler table design compared to a side-mounted connection, which usually requires a more complex folding mechanism.

Furthermore, the insert may include means for mechanical locking and unlocking when the insert is moved into/out of the insert carrier.

When extended, the insert can be rotatably mounted on the vehicle seat about a first axis that runs essentially transversely to the vehicle seat, in order to move the table arrangement from the storage position to a usable position.

The bracket can be attached or secured to the vehicle seat in its operating position using a click connection. This click connection could, for example, be a releasable locking mechanism that secures the bracket in the operating position, with the locking mechanism releasing when the bracket is removed. The table arrangement can be released into its storage position.

According to one embodiment, the table element can be arranged to tilt and rotate on the bracket in order to move the table element from the storage position to the usable position.

For example, it is possible to move the table element between a folded position and an unfolded position by tilting it about at least one further axis, in particular a second and/or a third axis.

The table element can then be moved into the usable position by rotating it around a fourth axis while it is in the unfolded position.

The folding and unfolding mechanism described here requires no complex steps and is easy to use. It also minimizes the risk of injury.

The table arrangement can also include additional table elements which, starting from the storage position, can each be swivelled into a respective usable position by pivoting in opposite directions around the second axis.

The above problem is also solved by a vehicle seat with the extendable table arrangement as described above. The vehicle seat comprises the seat surface and the table arrangement. In its usable position, the table arrangement is positioned relative to the vehicle seat such that the table element in its usable position is located above the seat surface.

The table element can be connected to the bracket in the center of its operating position. This provides additional stability, allowing the bracket to optimally support the table element.

As previously mentioned, the table arrangement can include additional table elements. Each table element can be positioned above the seat surface of the vehicle seat when in use.

The table arrangement can be positioned centrally on the underside of the vehicle seat.

The above task can also be solved by a vehicle with at least one vehicle seat as described above.

Table arrangement (10) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the insert (10') has means for mechanical locking and unlocking when inserting/extending the insert (10') into/out of the insert carrier (20).
