Dazu sind auf der Leiterplatte elektrische Kontaktflächen („Lands”) vorgesehen, die durch elektrische Kontaktelemente kontaktiert werden, welche in einen Kontaktträger des Kabelbaumsteckers eingesteckt sind und darin über eine so genannte Primärlanze verrastet sind. Die Primärlanze steht vom Grundkörper des Kontaktelements entgegen der Steckrichtung schräg nach außen vor, um in der eingesteckten Endposition an einem Hinterschnitt des Kontaktträgers zu verrasten und so das Kontaktelement in dem Kontaktträger entgegen der Bestückungsrichtung zu sichern. Zusätzlich weisen die bekannten Kontaktelemente einen scharfkantigen Hinterschnitt auf, der zur Sekundärverriegelung der primärverrasteten Kontaktelement im Kontaktträger dient. Aufgrund der vorstehenden Primärlanzen können sich die Kontaktelemente gegenseitig verhaken, was wiederum zum Aufbiegen der Primärlanzen und zur Beschädigung der Kontaktelemente führen kann. Außerdem sind solche Kontaktelemente mit vorstehenden Primärlanzen und mit sonstigen scharfen Kanten nicht für die Montage oder Demotage durch Dichtungen/Mattendichtungen hindurch geeignet, da die Dichtlamellen beim Hindurchstecken der Kontaktelemente zerstört werden.There are also known as direct electrical contacts, in which the male connector is omitted and the individual poles of the wiring harness are contacted directly on the circuit board. - – Das erfindungsgemäße Kontaktelement kann in dichten und undichten Kabelbaumsteckern eingesetzt werden, so dass für beide Anwendungsfälle nur ein Stanzwerkzeug erforderlich ist.

- – Die Sekundärverriegelung kann durch eine Rückwand einer das Lanzenende übergreifenden Anschlaglasche des Grundkörpers gebildet sein.
