According to the invention, the upper edge of the container has an upwardly projecting circumferentially arranged tongue which dips into a preferably complementary recess at the edge of the lid, this is preferably bounded on the outside by a downwardly directed cover flange which engages over the tongue from the outside. In the closed position of the lid, tongue and flange are preferably locked together with each other in the region of the plug-in receptacle of the tongue by a latching device, which is preferably formed by latching lugs, which engage in correspondingly complementary latching recesses.
