Abstract
The invention relates to a medical implant for the treatment of osteoarthritis in joints of the human or animal body, in particular in the knee joint of a patient. In order to avoid time-consuming procedures for inserting stable plates in the gap of the knee joint, the invention provides two magnetic bodies (9, 10; 20) which can be inserted into both opposite joint parts (1, 2), the polarity of the magnetic bodies (9, 9, 10; 20) has the same name.
Description
The invention relates to a medical implant for the treatment of osteoarthritis in joints of the human or animal body, in particular in the knee joint of a patient.
The progressive disappearance of hyaline articular cartilage and thus the articulation of inferior articular cartilage or articular bones is a component of arthritis in the human body. In most cases, arthrosis is asymmetric with preference for the medial or lateral compartment of a joint. This is especially evident on the knee joint. One-sided arthrosis is particularly common if there is a change in the leg axis. A varicose leg axis (O-legs) leads to an increased wear of the inner joint gap at the knee joint. In the case of a valgus leg axis (X-legs), the outer compartment is more heavily loaded. In unilateral arthrosis, changes in the leg axis are often performed before a prosthetic restoration. This can either avoid a joint prosthesis or delay the prosthetic replacement.
The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a medical implant for the treatment of osteoarthritis in joints of the human or animal body, in particular in the knee joint of a patient, with which such complex procedures are avoided.
To solve this problem, the invention provides two usable in both opposing joint parts magnetic body, wherein the polarity of a joint associated magnetic body is the same name. Thus, the previously known in the prior art method of inserting implants are avoided in the joint space. The insertion of the medical implants according to the invention into the bones of the two opposing joint parts considerably reduces the operating effort and only requires a considerably simpler intervention which does not change the leg axis, but nevertheless leads to a relief of the affected joint area.
According to the invention in both articulating joint parts or partners just below the cartilage layer magnet body is introduced, which have a same direction polarity, since the polarity of a joint, or the two joint partners of a knee joint associated magnetic body must be the same name.
The magnetic field strength of the two magnetic bodies is chosen so that it is adapted to the weight of the patient in a knee joint and contributes to a substantial pressure or weight relief of the joint or the two joint partners. It is a good shield u. a. strung by counter magnets facing the hinge side facing away, and measures to isolate the magnetic body in the bones of the two joint partners. The exact location of the magnetic body in the bone of the two joint partners is z. B. determined by means of the navigation of prostheses.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims. Thus, the magnetic bodies are formed from permanent magnets. The magnetic bodies can also be formed, in particular in vertebrae of the spinal column, from injectable miniaturized point magnets which can be injected into the joint parts or joint partners and can be compacted into point clouds.
Es zeigt:The medical implant according to the invention for the treatment of osteoarthritis in joints of the human body, in particular in the knee joint, is explained below with reference to two embodiments shown in more detail in the drawings.
