Bevorzugt ist die Wandstärke in diesem Bereich weniger als halb so groß wie in den übrigen Bereichen. Besonders bevorzugt beträgt die Wandstärke in diesen Bereichen weniger als 40% der Wandstärke in den übrigen Bereichen. Diese Bereiche reduzierter Wandstärke werden günstigerweise bereits in der Form hergestellt. Dadurch sind von außen keinerlei Einfälle oder Bindenähte oder ähnliches zu sehen. In einer bevorzugten Ausgestaltung der Erfindung weist die Baugruppe einen Halter auf, der zur Montage des Ultraschallsensors, insbesondere eines Gehäuses des Ultraschallsensors dient. Der Halter ist mit der Innenseite des Stoßfängers verbunden, insbesondere verklebt. Günstigerweise ist der Halter dabei gegenüber dem Ultraschallsensor, insbesondere gegenüber dem Gehäuse des Ultraschallsensors, mechanisch entkoppelt. Zur Entkopplung ist der Halter bevorzugt mit einem Gummiring oder Elastomerring an die Baugruppe gekoppelt. Dieser Entkopplungsring ist bevorzugt zwischen dem Halter und dem Sensorgehäuse angeordnet. Beide Gruppen werden dadurch schwingungstechnisch entkoppelt. Die Verbindung besteht also mindestens in einem Punkt bzw. umlaufenden Ring nur aus einem elastomeren Material, das die Verbindung zwischen der Baugruppe und dem Halter herstellt. Dadurch wird die Baugruppe schwingungsarm an dem Stoßfänger gelagert. Der Halter schließt mit der Baugruppe einen schmalen Winkel von bevorzugt weniger als 45° ein. Der Halter bildet bevorzugt einen umlaufenden Kranz um die Baugruppe aus. Bevorzugt sind weiterhin in dem Stoßfänger Entkopplungsstrukturen vorgesehen. Dazu sind günstigerweise eine oder mehr Ausnehmungen in dem Stoßfänger vorgesehen, durch die eine Ausbreitung der Schwingungen in dem Stoßfänger vermieden wird. Diese Ausnehmungen sind bevorzugt innenseitig offen und mit einem elastomeren Material, insbesondere Gummi, füllbar bzw. gefüllt. Günstigerweise sind dabei zwei nebeneinanderliegende Ausnehmungen oder Ringe vorgesehen. Die korrespondierenden Elastomereinsätze für diese Ausnehmungen sind bevorzugt mit dem Ultraschallsensor, insbesondere an dessen Halter befestigt, so daß bei der Montage des Ultraschallsensors und eines Halters gleichzeitig in einem Arbeitsgang die elastomeren Einsätze in die Ausnehmungen des Stoßfängers eingesetzt werden. In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform sind die umlaufenden Ringe der Entkopplungsstruktur mit unterschiedlichen Materialien ausgefüllt.
