Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Wertdokumente (1), insbesondere Banknoten, mit wenigstens einem Sicherheitsmerkmal (3) und einem Fenster (2), sowie ein Sicherheitspapier zur Herstellung solcher Wertdokumente und ein Verfahren zur Echtheitsprüfung dieser Wertdokumente. Über dem Fenster (2) dient ein Verifikationselement (5) zur Überprüfung des Sicherheitsmerkmals (3). Das Verifikationselement (5) ist im sichtbaren Spektralbereich transparent und besitzt einen oder mehrere Teilbereiche (7), die in wenigstens einem Spektralbereich des nicht sichtbaren Spektrums absorbieren oder reflektieren. Damit das Wertdokument (1) auf seine Echtheit überprüft werden kann, erzeugt das Sicherheitsmerkmal (3) bei Bestrahlung mit mindestens einer Wellenlänge aus diesem nicht sichtbaren Spektralbereich einen visuell wahrnehmbaren Farbeffekt, der durch das Verifikationselement (5) hindurch sichtbar ist.
