Hierdurch wird die Bedieneinrichtung in einem kompakten, funktionellen Zusammenhang zu übrigen Bedienelementen in der Mittelkonsole untergebracht. Es ergibt sich zwangsläufig, daß eine optimale optische Erfassungsposition nicht unbedingt die optimale haptische Position für die Betätigung der Multifunktions-Bedieneinrichtung ist. Aus diesem Grund ist genau diese Separierung zwischen Anzeige- und Bedieneinrichtung vorteilhaft, weil zum einen die optische und zum anderen die haptische Position jeweils nur für sich optimiert angeordnet werden kann.
