Andererseits ist sie nach wie vor einer der Kandidaten im aktuellen Normungsbemühen, das allerdings nach Ansicht von Fachleuten wegen widerstreitender Interessen in absehbarer Zeit noch zu keinem Erfolg führen wird. Vom Mobiltelefon 16, vom Funktelefon 17 oder vom Web-Panel 18 kann dann aktuell über eine häusliche DECT-Basisstation 15 ein Betriebszustand am ausgewählten Haushaltsgerät 11 abgefragt bzw. in dessen Programmablauf eingegriffen werden. Zweckmäßigerweise wird über einen weiteren Netzmodul 13 auf einen einfachen Sender 21 zur Funkfernsteuerung von ans Netz angeschlossenen Verbrauchern eingewirkt.
