Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for measuring the weight load of individual legs in couple hooves.
When developing implants in trauma surgery and orthopedics, among other things, also Animal experiments are carried out. Sheep is used particularly often, because these animals have bones of relevant size, are tolerant and inexpensive. It is often neglected that sheep as four-legged friends are able to gain weight move and thus relieve one leg completely or partially. This process must be done for the Observers should not be obvious. It is therefore not easy to see whether a Sheep an operated limb with an implant fully loaded or partially relieved.
If this fact has been taken into account so far, this happens in the As a rule, the operated sheep are guided over force sensors in the form of Plates lie on the floor. Since these sensors can only be of a limited size only a few steps can be recorded with them. In addition, the experimental animals must first accustomed to entering the sensors so that they have a normal gait pattern present.
In order to measure the extremity of a test animal easily and reliably, it is desirable to attach a force sensor to the foot of the test animal and the data obtained either directly, via telemetry or data caching in read a computer. A corresponding procedure is required for examinations People are quite normal: the force sensors are placed in a shoe or under it fixed. In sheep, this concern encounters anatomical difficulties: you belong to the paired hooves and are tiptoes that only with the final phalanges of the toes III and IV occur. The horn reinforcement of the two end phalanges forms the split hoof. The diameter of the hoof is only slightly larger than the following Sections of the leg so that a shoe finds little support. Toes III and IV are extremely agile against each other and against the midfoot. The leg is not up vertically above the hoof but opens out at an angle of approx. 70 ° from behind / above Hoof The horn cladding of the hoof is too thin for sensors to be attached to it could. A firm shoe for cloven hoofed animals does not yet exist.
State of the art in the field of footwear for cloven-hoofed animals are leather bags that over the foot upside down and attached to the leg with a string when the foot e.g. B. needs special protection in the event of an infection. Sensors cannot be attached because a firm sole is missing and the animal does not always have the same place on the shoe charged.
A firm shoe ( 1 ) for ungulates was developed, which is suitable for holding sensors ( 14 ) for measuring the load on a leg. A block of solid material is used, into which a recess ( 2 ) for receiving the hoof is milled from above. In its front part, the recess ( 2 ) has a longitudinal vertical dividing wall ( 7 ), which separates both parts of the hoof in paired hooves and thus together with the vertical front wall ( 5 ), the rear wall ( 4 ) and the side walls ( 3 ) of the Shoe (1) provides for a firm adhesive side of the foot in the shoe (1). The base of the recess ( 2 ) is adapted to the shape of the hoof and has a trapezoidal shape. The upper portion of the rear wall ( 4 ) of the shoe ( 1 ) is beveled upwards / backwards, in order to take into account the leg of the paired hoof that opens obliquely into the hoof from behind / upwards. The hoof is held in the shoe by a fastening strap ( 12 ). The fastening strap ( 12 ) is wrapped around the leg proximal to the hoof and pulled with both ends through a vertical slot ( 8 ) in the rear wall of the shoe ( 1 ). The fastening strap ( 12 ) is tensioned and fixed with one or more screws or pins ( 10 ) crossing the vertical slot ( 8 ). Additional straps ( 13 ) are fixed to the part of the fastening strap ( 12 ) which is wrapped around the leg and fastened to the front wall ( 5 ) and the side walls ( 3 ) of the shoe ( 1 ). This allows the shoe ( 1 ) to be attached to the hoof without falling off or sliding forward, backward or to the side. This enables the secure fixation of conventional force transducers ( 14 ) under the sole of the shoe ( 1 ), with which the load on the corresponding extremity can be measured. This can be done either by reading the data directly, intermediate data storage or telemetric transmission.
