Die eine dieser Platten b, also diejenige, welche dem Huf zunächst liegt, ist mittels zweier Flantschen d an dem Hufeisen α durch die Schraubstollen f abnehmbar befestigt, so zwar, dafs man zu jeder Zeit mit Leichtigkeit die Platte b von dem Hufeisen entfernen und wieder aufsetzen kann. Mit dieser Platte b ist eine nach aufsen erhabene Platte c durch Federn /; nachgiebig verbunden. Die Federn haben das Bestreben, die beim Auftreten des Pferdes nach innen gedrückte Platte c wieder in ihre ursprüngliche äufsere Lage zurückzubringen. Die Platten b und c füllen den ganzen freien inneren Raum des Hufeisens vollständig aus, so dafs weder Schnee, noch andere fremde Körper, wie Glasscherben, Nägel, Steine u.s.w., welche den Hufen des Pferdes schädlich sein könnten, eindringen können. Gleichzeitig können diese Platten b und c als Verbandeisen bei verletzten Hufen der Pferde angewendet werden, da sie die Hufe vor jeder äufseren Berührung mit dem Boden, wie auch gegen Eindringen von Schmutz schützen.In order to achieve the repulsion of the snowballs under the hooves, two iron plates b and c that completely fill the same are inserted into the horseshoe α.
