Description
Wastewater treatment The main patent application relates to a process for the purification of wastewater, especially that of the ammonia recovery plants of Coking plants or gas plants, by wet combustion of the impurities at increased Pressure and elevated temperature in the liquid phase with excess oxygen. the special operation of the main patent application is that two to three times more oxygen is used than stoichiometrically to oxidize the impurities required amount corresponds, and that the unused part of the oxygen addition from the treated wastewater due to its partial relaxation with only slight Most of the admixtures are recovered and recycled for treatment of others Amount of wastewater is used.
The invention aims to improve the process of the main patent application in the direction that the amount of used in the pressure treatment Oxygen is reduced, with an improvement in the cleaning effect at the same time is achieved.
The invention consists in that the wastewater to be cleaned before Pressure treatment in a manner known per se, initially using a suitable solvent freed from the phenols and then at essentially normal pressure and normal Temperature is ventilated, after which the sludge formed in the normal pressure treatment deposited together with any other solids contained in the wastewater before the pressure treatment with oxygen takes place.
It can therefore be considered to be known that one can use phenol-containing and wastewater containing other impurities initially by treatment with, for example Benzene largely dephenolated and then the dephenolized wastewater for the purpose of oxidation the remaining contaminants are treated with air at substantially normal pressure Has. However, this measure, which is known per se, has not proven to be sufficient on its own proven insofar as at normal pressure and normal temperature and also at Treatment with air a purification of the wastewater in accordance with today's regulations cannot be reached.
The upstream dephenolation and normal pressure treatment with air has the advantage that the reactions leading to the formation of the sludge are strong are oxygen consuming, are anticipated, so that in the subsequent pressure treatment with a greatly reduced amount of oxygen that affects the remaining impurities is coordinated, work can be carried out.
Dekantieren entfernt. The amount obtained in the pretreatment of the wastewater according to the invention Sludge and the other solid suspended and sinking matter present in the wastewater are in a manner known per se by filtration, settling or decanting removed.
Another important feature of the invention is that after the pressure treatment still a final ventilation of the wastewater with air at essentially normal pressure, but increased temperature. Through this final ventilation at elevated temperatures, certain odorous substances can be removed from the wastewater, especially formaldehyde. These impurities can also be found in the pressure treatment stage decompose, but there require a substantial increase in the amount of oxygen gas and necessitate a corresponding enlargement of the apparatus of the pressure treatment stage including the oxygen generator. By removing the odorous substances after the pressure treatment removed by ventilation under normal pressure, there is a significant Simplification and cheaper wastewater.
