Abstract
Un proceso para la producción de un precipitado de hidróxido de níquel de una solución de lixiviación que contiene níquel, la solución de lixiviación que contiene níquel tiene impurezas que incluye por lo menos, manganeso, cobre, zinc, hierro y cobalto, de modo que el precipitado de hidróxido de níquel es apropiado para, por lo menos, una peletización con minerales que contienen hierro y la producción de acero inoxidable, dicho proceso es caracterizado por tratar la solución de lixiviación que contiene níquel para formar una suspensión inyectando un gas seleccionado del grupo que consiste en nitróqeno, dióxido de carbono y argón en un espacio por encima de los tanques de reactores agitados que contienen la solución de lixiviación, anadiendo una base seleccionada del grupo que consiste de MgO , CaO y (Ca (OH2)) a la solución de lixiviación asi como precipitar un hidróxido mixto intermedio; la precipitación del hidróxido mixto intermedio formando una primera solución con bajo níquel; el precipitado de hidróxido mixto intermedio y la primera solución con bajo níquel forman la lama; los tanques reactores estando a una presión atmosférica y a un rango de temperatura que varía desde temperatura ambiente hasta 90°C; espesar la lama con espesantes gravitacionales comercialmente disponibles y filtrar la lama utilizando un filtro; lavar el filtro de torta precipitado de hidroxido mixto con una solucion de lavado; poner en contacto el filtro de torta lavado con solucion de ácido sulfúrico acuoso en un tanque agitado, el tanque siendo bien agitado durante 1 hora a 50°C; someter la solución concentrada que contiene níquel a extraccion por solvente con un extractor acídico orqánico; adicionar una base al extractor acídico para que tenga un pH con un range entre 4.0 y 6.5 durante el proceso de extracción: remover la solución orgánica cargada de impurezas con acido sulfúrico; tratar el refinado de extracción por solventes con una base seleccionada del grupo consistente de Na2C03 y NaOH; espesar la lama usando espesantes gravitacionales comercialmente disponibles y filtrar la lama por un filtro; lavar la torta de filtro con una solución acuosa de lavado; secar la torta de filtro con un secador comercialmente disponible a una temperatura en un rango entre 100-200°C y hasta que el nivel de humedad de la torta de filtro caiga por debajo del 20%; precipitar las impurezas rnetálicas de la solución de banda rnetálica impura con un agente de sulturación, tales como H2S, NaSH y Na2S.
