La presente invención se relaciona con compuestos de la fórmula Ien la cual R1 es hidrógeno, metilo o trifluorometilo, R2 , es metilo o metoxi, A es haloalquilo C1 -C4 , M es átomo de metal alcalino o metal alcanotérreo y n es 1 ó 2.Un proceso para la preparación de un compuesto de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, en el cual un compuesto de la fórmula IIen la cual R1 es hidrógeno, alquilo C1-C5 o fenilo, M es un átomo de metal alcalino o metal alcalinotérreo y n y m son 1 ó 2, siendo la suma de n y m3, o con un hidruro de metal alcalino o metal alcalinotérreo.Composiciones herbicidas e inhibidoras del crecimiento de las plantas que comprende un contenido activo como herbicida de un compuesto de la fórmula I y un portador inerte.Métodos para combatir el desarrollo de plantas perjudiciales, en el cual se aplica un compuesto de fórmula I, o una composición que comprende dicho compuesto, en una cantidad que sea eficaz como herbicida, a las plantas o a su entorno.Método para aumentar la estabilidad en el almacenamiento de las composiciones herbicidas e inhibidoras del desarrollo de las plantas que comprende, como ingrediente activo, un compuesto de fórmula II.
