The present creation is a light source connection module and a connector thereof, the light source connection module includes a cover body, a shell body and an electrode module. The shell is combined with the cover body. The housing forms an accommodating space and a first fastener. The containing space is provided with an opening to penetrate through the containing space. The first buckling piece is formed on two sides of the shell. The electrode module is coupled to the housing. The electrode module is provided with a base, an electrode and a second fastener. The base is provided with an electrode and a second fastener. The electrode penetrates the opening. The electrode has a contact end and a connection end. The contact end can contact the conductor and the connection end can be connected to the circuit board. The second fastener corresponds to the first fastener to combine the shell and the electrode module. The cover body can press the conductor on the contact end by combining the cover body, the shell and the electrode module, so that the circuit board is electrically connected with the conductor through the electrode.

The present invention relates to a connector, and more particularly, to a light source connecting module applied to a light source and a connector thereof.

Conventionally, the liquid crystal display panel mainly includes a light emitting layer (or referred to as a backlight) in addition to a liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal layer needs to pass through the light emitting layer to display a picture.
The backlight layer in the prior art is composed of a plurality of groups of light emitting diode modules, and the light emitting diodes are distributed below the liquid crystal layer and act on the liquid crystal layer through a surface light source generated by the light emitting diodes.
The multiple groups of light emitting diode modules are connected through the flat cable, and because the liquid crystal display panels have different sizes, the light emitting diode modules need to be customized according to the sizes, so that the circuit layout design is limited; moreover, if the led module is damaged, the entire set of led modules must be replaced, which is expensive and difficult to replace.
In view of the above, the present disclosure provides a light source connection module to solve the disadvantages of the prior art.

The first objective of the present invention is to provide a light source connection module, which is applied to a light emitting unit and can be easily configured at any position of a flexible flat cable.
The second objective of the present invention is to provide a light source connection module that can be applied to light emitting units of different sizes in an unlimited serial connection manner.
The third purpose of this creation is according to above-mentioned light source connection module, and the lid is removable, the equipment of being convenient for and maintenance.
A fourth objective of the present invention is to provide the light source connection module, wherein the connection unit can be disposed at the terminal, the connection portion and the external connection portion of the flexible flat cable, and the terminal of the connection portion is a control unit, a power unit or a terminal for connecting the terminal and the external connection portion to the outside.
A fifth object of the present invention is to provide a light source connector, which can be connected to a single or double light emitting unit or an external control unit, a power unit or a terminal.
A sixth object of the present invention is to provide a light source connector, wherein the first latch forms a resilient arm with a protrusion and the second latch forms an opening, and the protrusion is used to latch the opening to fix the first latch and the second latch on the connecting module.
A seventh objective of the present disclosure is to provide a light source connector, in which the cover presses the conductor against the electrode, so that the circuit board is electrically connected to the conductor of the flexible flat cable through the electrode.
An eighth object of the present invention is to provide a light source connector, which provides a short-circuiting member for short-circuiting any at least two conductors of a flexible flat cable.
A ninth object of the present invention is to provide a connector for achieving the purpose of connecting a power supply member.
In order to achieve the above and other objects, the present invention provides a light source connection module applied to a circuit board and a flexible flat cable. The flexible flat cable has a conductor for transmitting signals. The light source connecting module comprises a cover body, a shell and an electrode module. The shell is combined with the cover body. The housing forms an accommodating space and a first fastener. The containing space is provided with an opening to penetrate through the containing space. The first buckling piece is formed on two sides of the shell. The electrode module is coupled to the housing. The electrode module is provided with a base, an electrode and a second fastener. The base is provided with an electrode and a second fastener. The electrode penetrates the opening. The electrode has a contact end and a connection end. The contact end can contact the conductor and the connection end can be connected to the circuit board. The second fastener corresponds to the first fastener to combine the shell and the electrode module. The cover body can press the conductor on the contact end by combining the cover body, the shell and the electrode module, so that the circuit board is electrically connected with the conductor through the electrode.
In order to achieve the above and other objects, the present invention provides a connector for a circuit board and a flexible flat cable, the flexible flat cable having a conductor for transmitting signals, the flexible flat cable forming an exposed region to expose the conductor, the connector comprising a cover, a housing, an electrode module, a first electrode plate and a power supply. The shell is combined with the cover body. The housing forms an accommodating space and a first fastener. The containing space is provided with an opening to penetrate through the containing space. The first buckling piece is formed on two sides of the shell. The electrode module is coupled to the housing. The electrode module is provided with a base, an electrode and a second fastener. The base is provided with an electrode and a second fastener. The electrode penetrates the opening. The electrode has a contact end and a connection end. The contact end is capable of contacting the flexible flat cable. The second fastener corresponds to the first fastener so as to combine the shell and the electrode module. The first electrode plate is electrically connected with the connecting end at one end. The power supply part provides a second electrode plate. One end of the second electrode plate is electrically connected with the other end of the first electrode plate and the other end of the second electrode plate for receiving electric power. Wherein, through combining the cover body, the shell and the electrode module. The cover body can press the conductor on the contact end, so that the circuit board is electrically connected with the conductor through the electrode.
Compared with the prior art, the light source connecting module of the creation provides different connecting units, can be suitable for flexible flat cables with different lengths, and further can be designed according to the change of the size of the backlight module. In addition, the connector of the present invention provides a modular bridge between the flexible flat cable and the light emitting unit (e.g., led module) so as to be easily configured and maintained.
The specific techniques employed in the present invention will be further described with reference to the following examples and accompanying drawings.

Please refer to fig. 1, which is a schematic configuration diagram of a light source connection module and a connector according to an embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 1 shows a flexible flat cable 2, a circuit board 4, a light source connecting module 10 and a connector 20. The length of the flexible flat cable 2, the number of the light source connection modules 10 and the number of the connectors 20 are not limited, and the number and the length are disclosed herein for illustrative purposes only.
Fig. 2 is a schematic view illustrating a structure of a light source connection module according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In fig. 2, the flexible flat cable 2 includes a conductor 22. The conductor 22 is capable of transmitting a signal (power signal or control signal, etc.) to the circuit board 4. In one embodiment, the circuit board 4 may provide a Light emitting unit, for example, the Light emitting unit may be a Light-emitting diode (LED), a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL), or the like.
Refer to fig. 2 and 3. Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating an external structure of the light source connection module of fig. 1 of the present invention, and fig. 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating an internal structure of the light source connection module of fig. 1 of the present invention. The light source connection module 10 includes a cover 12, a housing 14 and an electrode module 16.
In fig. 2, the cover 12 is illustrated as a rectangle, and the cover 12 is coupled to the housing 14.
In fig. 3, the housing 14 forms an accommodating space SP and a first locking member 142. The accommodating space SP is provided with an opening 144 to penetrate the accommodating space SP. The first locking member 142 is formed on two sides of the housing 14, and in the embodiment, the number of the first locking members 142 is 4.
The electrode module 16 incorporates the housing 14. The electrode module 16 has a base 162, an electrode 164 and a second fastener 166. Referring also to fig. 4, a detailed structural diagram illustrating the electrode module and shorting member created in fig. 2 is shown.
The base 162 is provided with an electrode 164 and a second latch 166.
In the present embodiment, the number of the electrodes 164 is illustrated as 4. The electrode 164 penetrates the opening 144. The electrode 164 has a contact end 1642 and a connection end 1644. Wherein the contact end 1642 is capable of contacting the conductor 22 and the connection end 1644 is capable of connecting the circuit board 4. In the present embodiment, the electrode 164 has elasticity for generating a shape change by an external force (e.g. a pressure of the cover 12 combined with the housing 14) and for recovering the elasticity by releasing the external force, and fig. 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view illustrating the cover combined with the housing of fig. 2.
Returning to fig. 4, in this embodiment, the electrode module 16 further includes a shorting member 168, and the shorting member 168 is not a necessary component, and is mainly applied to the electrode module at the end. The shorting member 168 is provided in the housing 14 to short-circuit any at least two of the conductive wires 22 of the flexible flat cable 2.
In fig. 2, the second catch 166 corresponds to the first catch 142. After the second catch 166 catches the first catch 142, the housing 14 and the electrode module 16 may be joined.
In the present embodiment, the first latch 142 forms a resilient arm having a tab 1422 and the second latch 166 forms an opening 1662, which latches the opening 1662 with the tab 1422 to secure the electrode module 16 to the housing 14. In another embodiment, the tab 1422 is disengaged from the opening 1662 by releasing the compressed resilient arm.
In another embodiment, the cover 12 and the electrode module 16 form a fourth fastener 1610. The third fastening member 122 is disposed corresponding to the fourth fastening member 1610, and the cover 12 is coupled to the housing 14 by fastening the fourth fastening member 1610 through the third fastening member 122.
Please refer to fig. 6 to 8. FIG. 6 is a first perspective view of a connector according to an embodiment of the present disclosure; FIG. 7 is a second perspective view of a connector according to an embodiment of the present invention; and, fig. 8 is a cross-sectional view of a connector according to an embodiment of the present invention. In fig. 6, the connector 20 includes a first electrode plate 18 and a power supply 24 in addition to the cover 12, the housing 14 and the electrode module 16 of the first embodiment.
The descriptions of the cover 12, the housing 14 and the electrode module 16 refer to the description of the first embodiment, and are not repeated herein.
One end of the first electrode plate 18 is electrically connected to the connection end 1644.
The power element 24 provides a second electrode pad 26. One end of the second electrode plate 26 is electrically connected to the other end of the first electrode plate 18 and the other end of the second electrode plate 26 is electrically capable of receiving an electric power E. In this embodiment, the end of the second electrode plate 26 connected to the first electrode plate 18 may be a clip-type electrode for clipping the first electrode plate 18.
It is noted that in another embodiment, the housing 14 may further include a connecting slot (not shown) having a retaining wall. The power element 24 is stopped by the retaining wall and limited in the connecting slot, so that the first electrode plate 18 and the second electrode plate 26 can be smoothly connected in the process of inserting the power element 24 into the connecting slot.
Although the embodiments of the present disclosure have been described above, it should be understood that various changes in the form, construction, features, methods and quantities described in the claims may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure, and therefore the scope of the present disclosure should not be limited by the claims appended hereto.
Claims (10)
1. A light source connection module is applied to a circuit board and a flexible flat cable, wherein the flexible flat cable is provided with a conductor for transmitting signals, and the light source connection module comprises:
a cover body;
the shell is combined with the cover body, an accommodating space and a first buckle piece are formed in the shell, an opening is formed in the accommodating space so as to penetrate through the accommodating space, and the first buckle piece is formed on two sides of the shell; and
the electrode module is combined with the shell and is provided with a base, an electrode and a second buckling piece, the base is provided with the electrode and the second buckling piece, the electrode penetrates through the opening, the electrode is provided with a contact end and a connecting end, the contact end is used for contacting the conductor and the connecting end and is connected with the circuit board, and the second buckling piece corresponds to the first buckling piece so as to be combined with the shell and the electrode module;
the cover body is used for pressing the conductor on the contact end by combining the cover body, the shell and the electrode module, so that the circuit board is electrically connected with the conductor through the electrode.
2. The light source connection module of claim 1, wherein the first latch forms a spring arm having a protrusion and the second latch forms an opening through which the protrusion latches to secure the electrode module to the housing.
3. The light source connection module of claim 2, wherein the tab is disengaged from the opening by releasing the compressed resilient arm.
4. The light source connection module of claim 1, wherein the cover and the electrode module form a third fastener, the third fastener is disposed corresponding to the fourth fastener, and the fourth fastener is fastened by the third fastener, so that the cover is combined with the housing.
5. The light source connection module of claim 4, wherein the third and fourth fasteners are a groove and a latch, and the latch latches the groove to secure the cover to the electrode module.
6. The light source connection module of claim 1, wherein the electrode has elasticity for being deformed by an external force and for being restored by releasing the external force.
7. The light source connection module according to claim 1, further comprising a shorting member disposed in the housing for shorting any at least two of the conductors of the flexible flat cable.
8. A connector for use with a circuit board and a flexible flat cable having conductors for transmitting signals, the connector comprising:
a cover body;
the shell is combined with the cover body, an accommodating space and a first buckle piece are formed in the shell, an opening is formed in the accommodating space so as to penetrate through the accommodating space, and the first buckle piece is formed on two sides of the shell;
the electrode module is combined with the shell and is provided with a base, an electrode and a second buckling piece, the base is provided with the electrode and the second buckling piece, the electrode penetrates through the opening, the electrode is provided with a contact end and a connecting end, the contact end is used for contacting the flexible flat cable, and the second buckling piece corresponds to the first buckling piece so as to be combined with the shell and the electrode module;
one end of the first electrode plate is electrically connected with the connecting end; and
the power supply part is used for providing a second electrode plate, and one end of the second electrode plate is electrically connected with the other end of the first electrode plate and the other end of the second electrode plate for receiving electric power;
the cover body is used for pressing the conductor on the contact end by combining the cover body, the shell and the electrode module, so that the circuit board is electrically connected with the conductor through the electrode.
9. The connector of claim 8, wherein the second electrode tab is a clip-type electrode.
10. The connector of claim 8, wherein the housing further comprises a connecting slot having a retaining wall, and the power supply member is stopped by the retaining wall and is retained in the connecting slot.
