由于一些在办公室工作的职员工作量繁重压力较大，常常没有质量较好的午睡时间，而根据医学理论知道，人们是需要有子午觉的：即晚上11点到凌晨1点，中午11点到13点，如果人们在中午能小憩一会儿，不但对身体有好处，工作起来也更有精神。由于办公的空间有限，职员在办公室往往只能伏案睡觉，但头部长时间枕在手臂上睡觉时，手臂的血液循环将受阻，神经传导受影响，极易出现手臂麻木、酸疼等症状，而且往往醒后会出现暂时性的视力模糊，这是因为伏案睡觉时压迫到了眼球，造成眼压过高，而且对颈椎也有不好影响，所述一种用于午间小憩的头垫能解决这一问题。
