金属瓦目前在简易住房和厂房中使用广泛，瓦的生产最开始采用手工生产，生产效率低下，可重复性不高；而传统挤瓦机虽然效率较高，但是对不同厚度的金属板材的适用能力较差，较薄或者较厚的板材往往达不到预期的加工效果，甚至不能加工。
