现在的书夹是由第一夹片和第二夹片组成，第一夹片和第二夹片通过蝴蝶弹簧连接在一起，而夹片上的夹持段与支撑段为平直状态，这种书夹只能将书页夹在一起，而对书没有支撑作用，功能单一；且这样的书夹的夹片内侧是硬质的材料制成，这样容易将书的纸张损坏。

作为优选，所述第一夹片和第二夹片的夹持段的内侧设置有橡胶垫。橡胶垫为软质材料，能对书的页面起到保护作用。
