目前，在临床中，根据输血要求，在输血前要先用生理盐水冲洗输液管道以防出现输血反应，在输血后再用生理盐水冲洗输液管道，以免血液浪费；同时，在输血过程中，出现粘赌时，需接入生理盐水疏通。目前常用的输血器结构主要包括Y形上部输液管及设于其上的两个上穿刺针、上调节器、过滤器、下部输液管、下调节器、下穿刺针等。这种结构的输血器在使用中需临时穿刺生理盐水，这样就增加了一次性污染的机会，也增加了护理人员的工作量，另外穿刺时有一定难度，易刺破袋子或引起堵塞。
