目前，人们使用的太阳帽有多种形式。一种为帽箍式，它包括有帽沿和帽箍，在帽箍的中间部位连接有帽沿，使用时，将帽沿位于人脸位置，帽箍卡在头上即可，该帽箍式太阳帽只能遮挡眼睛前方的太阳，不能起到真正的遮阳作用；还有一种遮阳帽，它包括有帽子和帽沿，该帽沿与帽子同圆心，使用时直接将帽子戴在头即可，该太阳帽使用时需要系带子，否则很容易被风吹落，同时所有的太阳帽都不能遮挡肩部的太阳，也不具有防雨功能。
