本实用新型的目的是提供一种不用电的发光字，它能长效发光的效果，并能节约大量的电能，节约了能源、也降低了使用成本。为了解决背景技术所存在的问题，本实用新型是由长余辉粉层1、透明层2组成，长余辉粉层1形成广告装饰字，透明层2覆盖在长余辉粉层1的外面。本实用新型中利用长余辉材料的特性在白天吸收光线，在晚上自动发光，并在长余辉粉层1外面包有透明树脂层，透明树脂层可以用于延长长余辉粉层1的使用寿命，保证长余年粉层1的发光效果，并能适应不同的气候和天气情况。并可以节省大量的电能，适应当前的社会需求。
