常用的枕头外部采用纺织面料包装，内部采用荞麦皮、棉花等材料填充。传统的枕头一般不具有保健的作用，并且采用纺织面料包装会使枕头在长时间使用后，内部的填充物从纺织面料的缝隙漏出；同时，经过长时间的使用，枕头内部填充物也会渗入外面的灰尘，这样非常容易脏，并且内部填充物只能更换而不能清洗，给使用者带来很大的不便。
