Hair treatment systems and methods

The present invention relates to a hair styling system. More particularly, the present invention relates to a hair treatment system and method using a heatable curling iron.

Background technique

The use of hair straighteners and/or curling irons is well known. Typically, these devices comprise two pivotally connected arms, at least one of which has a heating surface adapted to come into direct contact with the hair of the user. These devices can be configured to provide various styling effects. For example, when the above-mentioned two arms are used to clamp the hair, hairstyles such as straight hair, curly hair or perm can be made according to the shape of the heating surface.

Furthermore, methods of treating and/or styling hair by applying different substances to the hair are also known. These substances are usually in a liquid or semi-liquid state and are generally applied directly to the hair by the human hand and/or a delivery container having a dispensing outlet. Examples of the above-mentioned substances for hair include moisturizing agents, antistatic agents, softening agents, straightening agents, conditioners and shine agents. Certain materials are generally applied in a dry form, or while the hair itself is dry. For example, we want certain substances to be used only on the ends or part of the hair, rather than applied to the scalp. As another example, we would like to be able to apply these substances during the final styling stages of hair styling, such as brushing or blow drying. Therefore we are constantly improving the technology for different applications. For example, the above-mentioned specific substances can be applied to hair through a medium such as cloth or fabric. Typically, a piece of cloth or fabric impregnated or absorbed with a hair treatment substance can be applied therein to the hair to create various desired hairstyles (eg, application of the substance to the ends or selected portions of the hair).

Where a piece of cloth or fabric is used to deliver the aforementioned substances to the hair, it may be necessary to wrap and/or wrap the hair or head with the cloth impregnated with the hair treatment substances to facilitate application of the substances to the hair. For example, heat, or the use of a blow dryer, is often used to facilitate the transfer of these heat-sensitive substances to the hair.

Therefore, there is a need for an economical, efficient and broadly applicable system that can facilitate the transfer of these hair treatment substances to the hair according to the various requirements of the hair styling or treatment process.

Contents of the invention

It is an object of the present invention to provide a system and associated method for cost-effectively applying various substances to selected portions of hair through a cloth.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and corresponding method for delivering various heat sensitive substances to selected portions of hair by using a cloth in combination with a heatable hair styling tool.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and corresponding method for applying desired various hair treatment substances to selected portions of hair by using a combination of cloth and straightener and/or curling iron.

The objects and advantages of the present invention are achieved by a hair treatment system having a hair styling tool comprising a pair of pivotally connected arms, one or more hair styling tools fixedly or removably connected to the hair styling tool. Contact members, a fixed frame fixedly or removably connected to one or more hair contact members and/or hair styling tools, and an application cloth for applying a substance to selected portions of hair.

Detailed ways

According to the drawings, especially as shown in the accompanying drawing 1, wherein the reference 1 indicates a general example of a system for hair treatment according to the present invention. Preferably, the treatment system 1 has the following components: a hair styling tool 2, one or more heatable hair contact members 4 connected to the hair styling tool 2, one or more hair styling tools 2 and/or contact members 4 An attached fixed frame 6, and one or more pieces of fabric or cloth 8 used in common with the contact member 4 through the frame 6.

The hair styling tool in accompanying drawing 1 is just as a relevant preferred example, and processing system 1 among the present invention can also additionally and/or alternatively adopt various other shaping tools, as curling irons, hair irons, hair rollers and other similar appliances. The hair styling implement preferably has a pair of pivotally connected arms 10, each arm 10 preferably having a handle portion 12 and a hair engaging portion 14 thereon. Each arm 10 has a proximal end 16 and a distal end 20 . The arms 10 are preferably pivotally connected at the proximal end 16 by a hinge 18 . The aforementioned hinge 18 preferably biases the arms 10 apart. This bias associated with hinge 18 can be selectively overcome by user intervention. For example, handle portion 12 may be shaped, sized and/or configured to allow a user to substantially overcome the bias of hinge 18 .

The hair engaging portion is preferably provided at the distal end 20 of the arm 10 . Arm 10 is operable by, for example, handle portion 12 to relatively pivot the arm about hinge 18 to selectively move hair engaging portion 14 between a closed relative parallel condition and an open relative angled condition. The hair engaging portion 14 is preferably adapted to selectively fit, fix and/or hold the hair contacting member 4 and/or the frame 6 .

According to one aspect of the invention, the hair engaging portions 14 of each arm 10 are paddle-shaped and face each other so as to be selectively closed or clamped together and opened or separated. In this aspect, the hair engaging portion 14 is adapted to be clamped around the section of hair to be treated, thereby applying heat and/or providing a styling effect. Depending on the shape, size and/or configuration of the hair engaging portion 14, and the technique employed, the hair can be straightened, shaped and/or otherwise styled as desired.

The arm 10 is preferably made of various suitable materials and/or combinations of different materials to provide safe and effective use. Meanwhile, the arm 10 can also be made into various shapes or structures to suit different applications in use.

As shown in Figures 1-4, the heatable hair contact member 4 of the preferred embodiment of the present invention is optionally mated with a hair engaging portion 14 to provide additional and/or alternative hair styling options. The contact member 4 may be fixed or removable relative to the hair engaging portion 14 and may have a variety of different shapes, sizes and/or arrangements to suit the desired use. For example, the upper surface 24 of the contact member 4 may be flat or smooth for straightening hair, contoured for styling curly hair, or otherwise shaped to provide other hair styling effects.

As shown in FIG. 4, the contact element 4 includes an engagement groove 26 which cooperates with a mating engagement tongue 30 shown in FIG. In the lower plane 28, and with guide rail 29. The contact member 4 may include a retainer 34 having a locking member 32 which cooperates with a locking/release member 33 shown in FIG. Sections 14 are connected together. The holder 34 may additionally and/or alternatively be adapted to connect the frame 6 with the contact member 4 and/or the hair engaging portion 14 . For example, according to one aspect of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, each hair engaging portion 14 has one or more flanges 36 thereon. The flange 36 is preferably configured such that the contact member 4 and/or the frame 6 can snap onto it. It is of course possible to use other additional and/or alternative means.

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIGS. 5-7 , in a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the frame 6 preferably has two clamping members, namely a first upper clamping member 38 and a second lower clamping member 40 . The first clamping member 38 has a grip 39 and is preferably detachably connected to the hair styling tool 2 . The second clamping member 40 is preferably pivotably connected to the first clamping member 38 by a pin 41 which cooperates with a recess 43 in the first clamping member 38 . Preferably, the cloth 8 is selectively and securely secured or held between the first and second clamping members 38 and 40 . For example, according to one aspect of the present invention, the first clamping member 38 has one or more first securing members 42 thereon, as shown in FIG. 1 . Likewise, as shown in FIG. 1 , the second clamping member 40 also has one or more second fixing members 44 . Preferably the first fixing member 42 can penetrate the cloth 8 and penetrate the second fixing member 44 so that when the first clamping member 38 and the second clamping member 40 are clamped or closed together, the second fixing member 44 The first fixing member 42 is preferably accommodated. Thus, by means of the first and second securing members 42 and 44 , the cloth 8 , which is operatively connected to the hair styling tool 2 via the frame 6 , can be secured between the first and second clamping members 38 and 40 .

It will be appreciated that other structures and/or arrangements may be employed for additionally and/or alternatively operatively connecting the cloth 8 to the hair styling tool 2 . For example, snap-fitting, clamping, Velcro or other simple attachment methods may be employed. Optionally, the cloth 8 can be modified for cooperation between the hair styling tool 2 and the cloth 8 . For example, the cloth may be formed in the form of a sock (not shown) with an opening to slide over the hair styling tool in an operationally appropriate manner.

Preferably, each contact member 4 is made of a suitable thermally conductive material, eg metallic and/or ceramic.

As shown in FIG. 7 , the cloth 8 is preferably fixed or clamped between two clamping members 38 and 40 of the frame 6 . One or more pieces of cloth 8 can be used to realize different hair styling effects as required. Cloth 8 can have different shapes, sizes and/or configurations to effectively fit frame 6 and/or hair styling tool 2 . Cloth 8 can be single-layer or multi-layer. Cloth 8 preferably acts as an absorbent that selectively absorbs and/or retains various desired substances (eg, hair treatment substances). The cloth 8 can be disposable or reusable. The material from which cloth 8 is made can consist of paper and/or a fabric structure. Preferably, the absorbency and heat resistance of the cloth 8 can meet the actual required use. For example, hair styling tools 2 typically operate at temperatures above 200°C. Therefore the cloth 8 preferably can withstand this temperature safely. Furthermore, it is preferred that the cloth 8 be effective in absorbing substances of varying concentrations and/or viscosities.

Some preferred aspects of the present invention have been described above, for carrying out the method of the present invention to substantially and effectively provide a hair treatment substance to selected portions of human hair, the method comprising providing a hair styling implement, such as the aforementioned styling implement . Wherein the hair styling tool is preferably operatively connected with the contact member 4 , the fixing frame 6 and the cloth 8 .

Referring to Figure 1 , in use, preferably one or more cloths 8 are secured to the hair styling tool 2 by the securing frame 6 . That is to say, one or more pieces of cloth 8 are preferably clamped in the clamping members 38 and 40 of each frame 6 so that the one or more pieces of cloth 8 can be securely held in place by the securing members 42 and 44 . Each frame 6 can be fastened to the hair styling tool 2 at any time as desired, before and/or after the cloth 8 is fastened to the frame 6 . The frame 6 may also be connected to the hair styling tool 2 in any suitable manner (eg via holders 34 and/or flanges 36). On one or more of the cloths 8 may contain various desired hair treatment substances. Before and/or after the cloth 8 is secured to the frame 6, the cloth 8 can be provided with the desired hair treatment substance whenever needed. Once the one or more pieces of cloth 8 are properly secured to the frame 6, the frame can then be suitably secured to the hair styling tool 2, which preferably includes a heater (not shown) which is connected via a power cord. 15 is connected to a power source (not shown) and the hair styling tool can be activated to provide heat directly to the one or more cloths 8 or indirectly through the contact member 4 to the one or more cloths 8 .

Hair treatment substances may be applied to selected portions of human hair as desired through the one or more pieces of cloth 8 associated with the hair styling tool 2 . Accordingly, the hair styling tool 2 preferably cooperates with one or more pieces of cloth 8 so that during the application of a desired hair treatment substance to the hair using the hair styling tool 2, the heat-activated substance contained in the cloth acts on selected portions of the hair. The above is only a specific embodiment according to the preferred mode of the present invention, and it is obvious that many improvements can be made to the above embodiments without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (20)

1. A hair treatment system comprising: a hair styling tool having a pair of pivotally connected arms; one or more hair contact members connected to the hair styling tool; a fixed frame which may be attached to said one or more hair contacting members and/or said hair styling tool; and An application cloth used to apply a substance to selected sections of hair. 2. The hair treatment system of claim 1, wherein said hair styling implement is a heatable soldering iron. 3. The hair treatment system of claim 1, wherein said hair styling implement is a heatable curling iron. 4. The hair treatment system of claim 1, wherein said hair styling tool is heatable for conductive thermal communication with said hair contacting member. 5. The hair treatment system of claim 1, wherein said hair contact member has an upper flat contact surface. 6. The hair treatment system of claim 1, wherein said hair contact member has an upper corrugated contact surface. 7. The hair treatment system according to claim 1, wherein said fixed frame has an external clamping member connected to said contact member and/or said hair styling tool. 8. A hair treatment system according to claim 7, wherein said attachment is optional and said securing frame is detachable from said contact member and/or said hair styling tool. 9. The hair treatment system of claim 7, wherein said stationary frame has an inner clamping member pivotally connected to said outer clamping member. 10. The hair treatment system of claim 8, wherein the outer clamping member cooperates with the inner clamping member to secure the cloth therebetween. 11. The hair treatment system according to claim 9, wherein said application cloth is connected to said contact member and/or said hair styling tool such that the upper side of said application cloth against said contact member can heat the contact surface . 12. A mounting frame for securing a hair application cloth to a hair styling tool, comprising: a first clamping member for connection to said hair styling tool; a second clamping member, the first and second clamping members being pivotally connected together; Wherein said first and second clamping members cooperate to secure said cloth therebetween. 13.
