近年来，大家已共同努力集成各种系统，以提供增强的信息交付和娱乐系统。例如，研究人员正在引入组合TV与计算机子系统的集成系统，因此TV可用作WEB浏览器，或PC可用于增强TV观看。
用于访问在因特网上可获得信息的一种方法包括用于显示因特网信息的基本电视机和用于访问来自因特网的选择信息的“机顶盒”。机顶盒向相应的电视机提供访问的信息，用于显示。机顶盒一般是相对小的和经济的设备，其位于电视机附近，在消费者家用应用系统中用作与因特网的有效接口。

在提取操作104中，处理在系统10中接收的输入视频信号，以提取特定的视频分段。特别有利的是从视频显示的开始或末尾提取视频字幕信息。输入视频信号的部分例如开始和/或结束字幕视频部分可以缓存或反而保存在适当的存储设备中，例如，硬盘或与存储器16相关的其他存储设备或系统10的其他元件中。例如，使用传统的硬盘记录设备。
在识别器操作106中，该操作生成视频内容中文本的文本表示，使用对象字符识别(Object Character Recognition)(OCR)是特别有益的。一般，OCR包括图像扫描器，用于光捕获将要识别的文本图像。以三个步骤处理文本图像：(1)文件分析(提取单个字符图像)，(2)识别这些图像(根据形状)，和(3)上下文(contextual)处理(或者校正利用识别算法进行的误分类或者限制识别选择)。另外，可使用其他的常规方法来进行视频字符识别。

SOAP是用于在分布式分散环境中交换信息的协议。SOAP是基于XML的协议，包括：定义用于描述消息包含什么并且它将怎样被处理的手段的包络(envelope)，用于表示应用限定数据类型的编码规则，以及用于表示远程过程调用和响应的协定。SOAP消息典型地从发送器单向传输到接收器，但是它们可以被合并以实现例如请求/应答的模式。
HTTP是具有用于分布式协作超媒体信息系统所需的轻巧和速度的协议。它是通用无状态的面向对象的协议，可被用于许多类似的任务，例如名称服务程序，并且通过扩展使用的命令或“方法”，其是分布式面向对象的系统。HTTP的特征是数据表示的协商，允许独立于新的先进表示的发展来建立系统。
一般而言，通常使用传输控制协议/因特网协议(TCP/IP)通过Internet发送数据。
物理层涉及通过通信媒体信号传输的电、机械和定时方面。系统10可以包括任何一个或更多各种众所周知的层，例如调制解调器、以太网、蜂窝和蓝牙。
现在，返回到图2，在相关联操作110中将接收的信息与主题语言相关联。最后，在再现操作112中，给用户提供观看为主题语言找到的信息的能力。例如，至显示单元或监视器的接口。
根据本发明的另一个方面(未示出)，以全自动方式能够实现这些技术，从而系统修改视频信号。例如，重新格式化视频信号，以包括与相应的视频信号的字幕信息的链接，以便用户访问。这些链接对应于通过系统10找到的URL，以及由服务提供者提供的那些URL。
另外，为了在实时应用中增加系统性能，系统10可以使用可利用的电子节目指南(EPG)数据和视频显示的片头字幕，在节目期间在背景中执行搜索，并且高速缓存有关的视频分段。此外，搜索可以被限制到受限的网站集合，以进一步改善速度。

Claims (13)

1.一种进行事务活动的方法，包括以下步骤：
从输入信号中提取预定的视频分段；
产生视频分段的文本表示；
语法分析用于主题语言的视频分段的文本表示；
使用主题语言作为搜索标准来搜索基于网络的资源，其中搜索步骤搜索与主题语言相匹配的信息；
将匹配信息与主题语言相关联；
给用户提供观看为主题语言找到的匹配信息的能力；以及
向用户收取显示匹配信息的费用。
2.一种用于为与视频显示中的视频内容主题相关的信息从基于网络的资源中提供内容相关链接的方法，该方法包括以下步骤：
从视频显示中提取视频内容；
识别视频内容，以产生视频内容的文本表示；
语法分析用于主题语言的视频内容的文本表示；
使用主题语言搜索基于网络的资源，其中搜索步骤确定具有与主题语言相匹配的信息的内容相关链接；以及
将内容相关连接与主题语言相关联。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法，进一步包括允许用户使用相关联的主题语言访问内容相关链接的步骤。
4.如权利要求2所述的方法，进一步包括存储视频内容或内容相关链接的步骤。
5.如权利要求2所述的方法，其中从由开头字幕、结尾字幕和包含文本的视频分段组成的组中选择视频显示的视频内容。

7.一种用于为与视频显示中的视频内容主题有关的信息从基于网络的资源中提供内容相关链接的设备，该设备包括：

9.如权利要求7所述的设备，其中存储器能够存储视频内容。
10.如权利要求8所述的设备，其中处理器进一步包括为用户访问内容相关链接计算费用。
11.如权利要求6所述的设备，其中从由开始字幕、结尾字幕和包含文本的视频分段组成的组中选择视频显示的视频内容。
12.如权利要求6所述的设备，其中内容相关链接是URL。
13.如权利要求8所述的设备，进一步包括显示器，其允许观看包含在内容相关链接中的信息。
