In FIG. 4, air A1 is supplied to the intake port 25A of the engine 25 extending from one end of the vehicle body 3 in the lateral direction (ie, substantially from the left toward the middle region), so the engine 25 can be cooled. The intake port 25A of the engine 25 is arranged on the back of the bottom plate 22 and above the upper surface of the bottom plate 22 . The intake port 25A opens to the front surface of the air cleaner 26 .

An air introduction path 43B as a space is provided between the second guide wall 21E and the floor cover 15 . For example, the air introduction path 43B guides the slightly polluted strong cooling air A2 to the rear. The air A2 cools a part of the oil tank 54 provided on the lower part of the engine 25 . Air A2 is supplied to intake port 27A connected to, for example, a belt chamber of power transmission device 27 arranged at the other end (ie, right side in the lateral direction) of vehicle body 3 to cool the belt chamber. The intake port 27A is arranged on the back of the bottom plate 22 and above the upper surface of the bottom plate 22 .

For example, when the polluted strong cooling air flows horizontally in the air introduction path 43B, the mud and water carried by the cooling air pass through the inclined member 21F provided obliquely on the lower area of the second guide wall 21E to move in the oblique direction. are discharged in the downward and rearward directions.

In FIG. 4 , the vehicle body 3 includes a shroud 31 as a forced air cooling device using a fan located on the left side of the engine 25 . The shroud 31 has an air intake port 45 (see FIG. 2 ). The lower cover 21 has an air introduction hole 47 to introduce cooling air into the intake port 45 . On the side of the side wall 21A of the lower cover 21 is formed a concave surface 49 concave toward the inside. The concave surface 49 extends in the longitudinal direction to guide air to the air introduction hole 47 . The concave surface 49 is positioned adjacent to the side wall 21A serving as a surface in the upper region of the first guide wall 21C of the lower cover 21 . The protrusion 50 is provided between the upper area of the concave surface 49 and the side wall 21A to form a stepped portion.

An air introduction wall 33 extending in the lateral direction of the vehicle body 3 is positioned on the outer peripheral portion of the shroud 31 on the side away from the air introduction hole 47 . The air introduction wall 33 allows easy introduction of air through the intake port 45 . The intake port 45 is formed in the lateral direction of the vehicle body 3 and opens leftward or rightward.

39。In FIG. 4, the protrusion 51 is positioned on the outer wall of the first guide wall 21C of the lower cover 21, that is, on the side wall 21A side. The protrusion 51 is arranged away from the stepped portion 21D and extends in the lateral direction of the vehicle body 3 . An air guide groove 53 extending long in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body 3 is formed by the protrusion 51 and the stepped portion 21D. The air guide groove 53 guides cooling air to cool the discharge pipe 39 extending in the lower area side of the engine 25 .

The discharge pipe 39 is arranged to pass through the rear of the first guide wall 21C. At least a part of the oil tank 54 positioned under the engine 25 is arranged behind the second guide wall 21E as a bottom wall of the bottom plate 22 at a lower position.

22。In FIG. 1 , the front cover 20 includes a rear leg shield 17B as a cover covering the rear area of the vehicle frame 5 . The front cover 20 includes a front leg shield 17F as a cover covering the front area of the vehicle frame 5 . The front leg shield 17F has an inlet 55 as an intake port. Air is guided to the bottom plate 22 through a space serving as a duct formed between the front leg shield 17F and the rear leg shield 17B. Therefore, air can be easily introduced into the bottom panel 22 from the front through the inlet 55 .

A space as a duct is formed between the rear leg shield 17B and the inner cover 19 . This space provides the front area of the air introduction path 43 . The front upper end 19A of the inner cover 19 shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 extends toward the middle portion of the rear leg shield 17B shown in FIG. 1 . In FIG. 7, the front upper end 19C is close to or contacts the middle portion of the rear leg shield 17B. In FIGS. 5 and 8 , an inlet 55 for the air introduction path 43 is formed on the inner cover 19 below the front upper end 19A.

In FIG. 5 , the inlet 55 is separated from each other in the lateral direction from the intermediate portion 19C, which is the middle region of the inner cover 19 in the lateral direction, which is interposed between the inlets 55 . Each inlet 55 extends longer in the lateral direction of the inner cover 19, and includes a plurality of openings 57 that open upward. In FIG. 9 , the openings 57 have a predetermined width D between each other in the longitudinal direction of the inner cover 19 . The inner cover 19 has a plurality of opening forming members 59 as ventilation cells extending in the lateral direction of the inner cover 19 . The opening forming member 59 has an upward slope toward the front face F of the inner cover 19 .

The operation of the conduits included in the scooter 1 is discussed below.

43。When the engine 25 is started, the scooter 1 travels forward. The front shin panel 17F and the inner cover 19 receive air from the front. A part of the air is introduced into the duct formed between the rear leg shield 17B and the inner cover 19 through the inlet 55 . Air is guided to the air introduction path 43 by ducts.

A2。Air is introduced into the front area of the air introduction path 43 from the front. Air passes through an air introduction path 43 provided between the floor cover 15 and the lower cover 21 to be guided to the rear. During this stage, as the air flows backward, the air is divided into two types of air A1 and A2 by the step portion 21D.

The air A1 flows along the air introduction path 43A provided between the first guide wall 21C and the floor cover 15 . The air A1 flows upward from the outlet of the air introduction path 43A to be supplied to the intake port 25A of the engine 25 . Therefore, the air A1 efficiently cools the engine 25 and other components.

On the other hand, the air A2 flows along the air introduction path 43B provided between the second guide wall 21E and the floor cover 15 . The air A2 flows upward from the outlet of the air introduction path 43B. Air A2 is supplied to the intake port 27A to effectively cool the belt chamber. The mud and water carried by the air flow through the space between the second guide wall 21E and the floor cover 15 and through the inclined member 21F shown in FIG. 4 , and are discharged rearward and downward. This structure prevents mud and water from splashing on the belt chamber constituting the power transmission device 27 and its peripheral components.

25。The air A3 is guided rearward by the concave surface 49 on the outer surface of the lower cover 21 , and flows into the air introduction hole 47 . In FIG. 2 , this air A3 flows through the intake port 45 and cools the engine 25 .

39。The air A4 is guided rearward by the guide groove 53 on the outer surface of the lower cover 21 and cools the discharge pipe 39 .

According to the above-described embodiment, the scooter 1 includes the frame 5 . The frame 5 has a first frame portion extending in a vertical direction in front of the driver's legs, and a second frame portion extending rearward from a lower area of the first frame portion. The scooter 1 includes a front cover 20 covering the first frame portion. The scooter 1 comprises a floor 22 covering the second frame portion of the frame 5 . The bottom panel 22 extends rearwardly from the lower area of the front cover 20 and has an upper surface as a surface on which the driver's feet can rest. The scooter 1 includes a prime mover 29 disposed near the rear area of the floor 22 to drive the vehicle. The scooter 1 comprises an entrance 55 provided on the front area of the vehicle. Air is introduced through the inlet 55 and passes through the interior of the floor 22 to the rear. A stepped portion 21D extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is provided on the bottom wall of the floor 22 . The guide walls 21C and 21E positioned at different height levels due to the stepped portion 21D are arranged side by side with each other in the lateral direction. Therefore, by the designed shape of the lower surface of the bottom plate 22, it is possible to prevent mixing of the two types of air respectively introduced through the air introduction paths 43 while ensuring a sufficient amount of air, and to supply air to an area requiring air cooling.

The inclined member 21F extends downward from the rear end of the second guide wall 21E which is the bottom wall of the bottom plate 22 and is located at a lower position. The inclined member 21F also prevents mixing of the air passing inside the bottom plate 22 and the air under the bottom plate 22 .

The second guide wall 21E serving as the bottom wall of the bottom plate 22 and located at a lower position extends rearward longer than the first guide wall 21C located at a higher position. Thereby, mixing of the air passing through the inside of the bottom plate 22 and the air below the bottom plate 22 can be further prevented.

The stepped portion 21D expands as it extends backward. Therefore, the stepped portion 21D allows the air flowing inside the bottom plate 22 to go upward, while the air under the bottom plate 22 reaches the rear along the surface of the first guide wall 21C located at a higher position.

A concave surface 49 extending in the longitudinal direction and recessed inward is formed on the side of the bottom plate 22 . The concave surface 49 easily forms another air introduction path and prevents the air in this air introduction path from mixing with the air in another air introduction path.

The concave surface 49 is formed adjacent to the side wall 21A in the upper region of the lower surface of the bottom plate 22 . The stepped portion is provided by the protrusion 50 formed between the surface of the side wall 21A located in the upper region and the concave surface 49 . Thereby, mixing with air in another air introduction path can be further prevented.

39。Prime mover 29 includes engine 25 and discharge pipe 39 extending rearwardly from engine 25 . The discharge pipe 39 extends toward the rear of the first guide wall 21C, which is the bottom wall of the bottom plate 22 and is located at a higher position. The discharge pipe 39 directs the air under the floor 22 to cool the discharge pipe 39, which is less affected by mud and water. Thus, the discharge duct 39 is effectively cooled while directing most of the air that has passed inside the bottom plate 22 to another area.

The prime mover 29 includes the engine 25 , and an oil tank 54 is formed at the lower part of the engine 25 . At least a part of the oil tank 54 is arranged behind the second guide wall 21E which is the bottom wall of the bottom plate 22 and is located at a lower position. In this arrangement, the air is led to the oil tank 54 whose temperature tends to rise. The prime mover 29 includes the engine 25 and an intake port 25A of the engine 25 arranged behind the bottom plate 22 and above the upper surface of the bottom plate 22 . In this arrangement, relatively clean air that has passed inside the floor 22 is directed upwards and supplied to the engine 25 . The prime mover 29 includes the power transmission device 27 . An intake port 27A for introducing air to cool the inside of the power transmission device 27 is arranged behind the bottom plate 22 and above the upper surface of the bottom plate 22 . In this arrangement, relatively clean air that has passed through the inside of the bottom plate 22 is directed upward and supplied to the inside of the power transmission device 27 .

The prime mover 29 includes a fan for cooling the prime mover 29 with air. The intake port 45 of the fan is arranged behind the concave surface 49 of the bottom plate 22 . In this arrangement, air for cooling the prime mover 29 can be secured.

The intake port 45 of the fan opens leftward or rightward in the lateral direction. There is provided an air introduction wall 33 disposed at least rearwardly and downwardly of the intake port 45 and projecting in the lateral direction. The air introduction wall 33 guides the air flowing along the concave surface 49 to the fan.

19。A duct as a space formed between the rear leg shield 17B and the inner cover 19 becomes the front area of the air introduction path 43 . In FIG. 1 , the front upper end 19A of the inner cover 19 extends toward the middle portion of the leg shield 17 . In FIG. 7, the front upper end 19A is close to or contacts the middle portion of the rear leg shield 17B. In Figures 5 and 8, the inlet 55 is positioned slightly below the front upper end 19A. In this arrangement, air can be efficiently introduced. Because the front upper end 19A is close to or contacts the middle portion of the rear leg guard 17B, the front wheel Wf is positioned closer to the inner cover 19 than is the case with conventional scooters.

The openings 57 have a predetermined width D between each other in the longitudinal direction of the inner cover 19 . The inner cover 19 has a plurality of opening forming members 59 extending long in the lateral direction. Furthermore, the slope of the opening forming member 59 rises toward the front of the inner cover 19 . In this arrangement, the upward movement of mud and water splashed by the front wheels Wf is prevented.
