图10提供当用户选择选项来购买苏打时显示的实例屏幕190。为用户呈现多个不同类型的苏打供购买以及从12盎司罐装到2公升瓶装的不同大小。图11A显示当用户选择与图8的区域164相关的选项来订购比萨时的一个屏幕实例192。屏幕192询问用户选择比萨的大小。值得注意的是在这一情况下仅有4个选项并且相关按钮的标识以幻影形式显示为屏幕192的背景区域的一部分。应用还包含智能或简化订购比萨的任务。如图11B所示，提示用户请求“按惯例”，其指用户典型订购的。值得注意的是区域196与键盘32上的按钮1、2和3相关。区域198提示用户订购与最近订购的相同的比萨。这个区域与按钮4、5和6相关。选择最后的区域200使用户订购全新的比萨。区域200与按钮7、8和9相关。
这个讨论主要集中在例子实例上，其中电子设备是移动电话12。图12描述了一个例子，其中电子设备是电视系统18。电视系统18可以是便于接入互联网的交互式电视系统。电视系统18包括通过无线通信路径与机顶盒204通信的遥控器201。遥控器201例如，可通过红外通信与机顶盒204通信。遥控器201包括键盘202。对于图12中描述的例子，键盘202包含编号1到9的按键。键盘还包括附加按键，并且本领域的技术人员应该理解，键盘不需要编号而可以包含另一个字符或按键序列。机顶盒204包含web浏览器214在其上运行以便在电视机206上呈递web页面216的处理器212。在说明性实施方案中，假设电视机206的显示器被分为如上所述的逻辑区域。对于图12中描述的例子，电视机206有分为与9个按钮相关的9个区域的显示器。这仅仅是想要说明而不是本发明的限制。处理器212也能访问内容216的页面。可以是HTML页面、XML页面或用于由机顶盒204呈递到电视机206上的合适内容的页面。各种应用程序218也可以在处理器212上运行。机顶盒204通过网络208，如电缆网或电缆网与计算机网的组合进行通信以便获得对服务器210的访问。服务器210可以，例如，常驻在电缆站。服务器210包括执行程序222与机顶盒204相互作用的处理器220。服务器210还访问其它各种内容中如电视机206呈递的页面216的内容224。
图12显示电视系统18的一个实例。显示器在电视机206上并且键盘202在遥控器200上。本领域的技术人员还应该理解键盘在机顶盒204上的实例。电视机206上所示的显示器逻辑上分为与遥控器201的键盘202上的按键相关的区域以便提供如上面已经描述的行为。
虽然已经参考其说明性实施方案描述了本发明，但是本领域的技术人员应该理解，在不背离如所附权利要求规定的本发明的想要范围的情况下，可以做形式上和细节上的各种改变。

Claims (50)

1.在有显示器和具有按键的编号键盘的电子设备中，一种方法包括步骤：
在显示器上的各部分内显示直观信息，其中每个部分与编号键盘上的相应一个按键相关，并且其中每个部分提供与选择编号键盘上的按键相关的选择的直观指示；以及
响应编号键盘上的选定的一个按键的选择，触发一个事件。
2.如权利要求1的方法，其中编号键盘上的按键以一种模式配置，并且其中各部分排列在显示器上来与按键配置的模式相匹配。
3.如权利要求1的方法，其中所述各部分包含图形信息。
4.如权利要求3的方法，其中所述各部分包含文本。
5.如权利要求1的方法，其中所述各部分包含文本。
6.如权利要求1的方法，其中所述电子设备是电话。
7.如权利要求6的方法，其中所述电话是移动电话。
8.如权利要求1的方法，其中所述电子设备是寻呼机。
9.如权利要求1的方法，其中所述电子设备是个人数字助理(PDA)。
10.如权利要求1的方法，其中所述电子设备包括与具有键盘的设备组合的电视机。
11.如权利要求1的方法，其中所述电子设备是互联网设备。
12.如权利要求1的方法，其中触发事件的步骤包括在显示器上显示新的信息，其中新的信息与编号的键盘上的选定按键相关。
13.如权利要求12的方法，其中在显示器上显示的新信息分为每个与编号键盘的相应按键相关的部分。
14.如权利要求1的方法，其中至少有五个部分。
15.如权利要求14的方法，其中有九个部分与编号为一至九的相应按键相关。
16.如权利要求1的方法，其中每个部分与一个业务相关，并且其中选定按键的选择触发涉及与选定按键相关的业务的信息显示在显示器上。
17.如权利要求1的方法，其中每个部分包含用于直观地划分所述部分的界限的边界。
18.如权利要求1的方法，其中各部分基本上占据全部显示器。
19.如权利要求1的方法，其中每个部分专有地与编号键盘按键中的单独一个按键相关。
20.在有显示器和含有按键的编号键盘的移动电话中，一种方法包括步骤：

26.如权利要求20的方法，其中响应步骤包括在显示器上呈递一个无线标示语言(WML)卡片。
27.在有输出设备以及用于输入的至少两个编号按钮的电子设备中，一种导航的方法包括步骤：
在输出设备上输出导航选项以便生成第一个输出，因此每个输出选项占用与编号按钮之一相关的输出的一部分，并且输出选项以一种模式显示在第一个输出上来符合编号按钮的物理设计；以及
电子设备的用户一旦选择编号按钮之一，就在与选定按钮相关的输出设备上输出一组新的导航选项，所述新的导航选项以一种模式显示以便符合编号按钮的物理设计并且每个选项与编号按钮之一相关。
28.在有显示器以及编号按键的电子设备中，一种定位站点的方法包括步骤：
在显示器显示包含站点的地理区域的第一张地图，其中所述地图分为直观地划分界限的区域并且其中每个区域对应编号按键中相应的一个；以及
用户一旦选择一个选定的编号按键，第二张地图就显示在显示器上，其更详细描述第一张地图中对应于选定的一个编号按键的区域。
29.如权利要求28的方法，其中第二张地图有一个直观的站点指示。
30.如权利要求28的方法，其中所述站点是自动柜员机。
31.如权利要求28的方法，其中所述站点是商品销售商。
32.如权利要求28的方法，其中所述站点是业务提供商。
33.如权利要求28的方法，其中所述电子设备是电话。
34.如权利要求28的方法，其中所述电子设备是移动电话。
35.如权利要求28的方法，其中所述电子设备包括电视作为显示器和有编号按键的电视机的遥控器。

38.在有显示器和具有按键的编号键盘的电子设备中，一种方法包括步骤：
在显示器的相应区域显示业务的直观表示，其中每个所述区域对应编号键盘上的相应一个按键并且其中所述区域以一种模式表示为符合编号键盘上的按键的布局的几何布局；以及
响应电子设备的用户选择选定的按键之一，在显示器上显示信息以便使用户能够请求由对应选定按键的区域直观表示的给定业务。
39.如权利要求38的方法，其中所述给定业务是进行购买的业务。
40.如权利要求38的方法，其中所述给定业务是购买食品。
41.如权利要求38的方法，其中所述给定业务是购买比萨。

43.一种用于具有显示器和有按键的编号键盘的电子设备的存储介质，所述介质保留执行一种方法的指令，包括步骤：
在显示器上的各部分内显示直观信息，其中每个部分与编号键盘上的相应一个按键相关并且其中每个部分提供与选择编号键盘上的按键相关的选择的直观指示；以及
