Abstract

总的来说,本发明涉及电动牙刷。更具体的说,是关于设计成限定使用时间试用的电动牙刷。
背景技术
传统的电动牙刷,特别是与手动牙刷的成本相比,一般是价钱昂贵,经常是手动牙刷的20-30倍。因此,因为价格高以及如果没有价格风险就不会有机会试用电动牙刷这一事实,说服许多人去购买电动牙刷是困难的。然而,许多电动牙刷制造商相信,如果潜在购买者直接试用过电动牙刷,就会存在购买它的一个重要的机会,特别是如果在试用期内,电动牙刷显示了使用后的好的清洁效果和好的感觉。然而,到目前为止,电动牙刷制造商们还没有尝试给公众提供一种试用型电动牙刷,以便在限定时间内试用。至于是否是因为成本或其他考虑就不得而知。实际上,也不确定是否一些制造商曾经考虑过使用特殊的试用装置来促销电动牙刷。
说服潜在客户购买电动牙刷就留给了市场营销来努力或是从其他人处得到推荐书,例如牙科专家的推荐书。然而这些技巧确实获得了一些成功,特别是对于某些电动牙刷来说,整个牙刷市场的很大一部分还没有使用电动牙刷。如果用户能在某一段时间内无风险的试用此电动牙刷,或许反而能确定此部分市场真正的百分率。一组用户可能需要试用装置以使他们信服;如果没有此试用装置,他们也许决不购买商用电动牙刷。另一组用户可能信服地使用了试用装置,从而加快其做出购买电动牙刷的决定。对于制造商的挑战是设计一试用型(试验装置)电动牙刷,其基本上模仿了相应的传统的(标准的)装置并在短期内提供了相同的刷牙体验及益处,而且在用完此试用装置后完全可把它扔掉。
发明内容
因此,本发明涉及的是可丢弃的试用型电动牙刷(或试用型电动个人护理用具),包括:一个设计用来模拟相应的可买到的商用电动牙刷性能的试用型电动牙刷包括一套仿效相应的商用的电动牙刷的电力系统,其中该试用型电动牙刷的电动装置能在试用期限内为试用型电动牙刷提供电力,此试用期限应该足够长,使使用者有机会适应该试用牙刷的操作,并据此评价其性能,其中,此试用型电动牙刷和相应的商用电动牙刷有近似的操作功用,而且该试用型电动牙刷的电动装置包括一具有能量放电特性的不可充电电池,以在整个试用期限内输出满功率;该试用型电动牙刷的电动装置包括一电力控制电路,该电路与电池一起控制试用型电动牙刷的工作并在所述试用期限后终止其工作,其中此试用型电动牙刷在所述试用时间之后不能再使用时,该试用型电动牙刷可以被扔掉。
该电力控制电路以试用期限内电池的输出电压为基础,通过改变用于驱动牙刷的马达的马达驱动电路的控制信号的工作循环,在试用期限内弥补电池输出电压减少,以控制操作试用型牙刷的电能在所述试用限内以与相应的商品牙刷大约一致的水平工作。

具体实施方式
本发明的试用型电动牙刷装置在图1中示意性显示。根据一个具体的用作说明的电动牙刷,此试用型电动牙刷的概念被描述出来。然而,应该理解本发明的原理可被应用于电动牙刷的不同的设计和方案。特别应理解本发明的原理不限于在这里示出和详细描述的特殊的牙刷结构。
与图1相应的商用牙刷实际上在美国专利No.5,994,855中示出并描述过,在美国专利No.5,189,751中有更详细的描述,这两个专利都由本发明的受让人拥有。本试用型牙刷装置通常用10标示,包括一手柄部份12和一可从手柄部份拆卸的头部14。手柄部份14包括电池16和电磁马达18。头部14包括一细长的共振发声的振动臂19,其前端是牙刷头20。此共振臂19安装在交叉设置的扭矩销上,并由马达18驱动作前后运动。此装置由开关23控制。本发明的试用型牙刷装置10被设计并构建成仿效相应的商用装置的操作和性能。
本发明的重要概念是此试用装置仿效了相应的商用装置的性能。如前所述,本发明并不限于试用装置或商用装置的具体结构。
由图1的试用装置所仿效的商用牙刷由两节可充电的分别为1.2伏的镍镉电池驱动。其他的充电电池也能用在此商用装置上。在商用装置中充电电池一般是不丢弃的,并由配套的充电装置充电。
在本发明的试用装置10中,电池16是不可充电的、可丢弃的电池。在试用装置里不包括充电器。电池16一般是用两节1.5伏碱性电池。因此,在所示实施例中必须先降低用于仿效商用装置马达的电池的输出电压的水平。在此情况下,碱性电池16的电压水平必需降到商用装置中充电电池的电压水平。
另外,为了完全仿效商用装置,本发明的试用装置10包括在相应的商用装置中也存在的特殊的适应性特征,其中牙刷最初的一系列使用都是在低于满功率的水平,以允许一段时间调整对电动牙刷的感觉及电动牙刷对牙床和牙齿的作用。
本发明的试用装置10的电池与电力控制电路结合,设计成提供大致仅仅一个月的近似满功率(与商用装置比较)的使用期。一个月(30天)的使用期,即60次刷牙,相信对于牙刷的直接试用是适合的时间,尽管应该明白可以选择稍微多或少的使用次数。整个试用装置10在试用期结束以后是可丢弃的。
电池16有足够的电能以持续一个足够的试用期,即一个月/30天。典型的是,一个月允许有大致两周让使用者适应操作并感觉该牙刷,再有两周获得牙刷完全的效果和好处。一个月(30天)一般将满足大多数使用者的充分试用;在试用时间结束时,使用者有希望体验到充分的好处和效果从而购买相应的商用装置。
马达的电力控制是本发明的一个重要方面。参考图3,不作任何调整时放电电压曲线30是一般碱性电池单独具有的。在本发明中,希望是碱性电池,因为它会带来在整个试用期内(一个月/30天)的大致满功率输出,然后输出功率非常快速的降低,而不是长时间、稳定的、缓慢降低的。因此,在电池开始从满功率降低以后(试用期结束时)不久,此装置实际上就停止了工作,所以在电池停止工作之前基本上在使用期内该装置的操作和性能没有被削弱。
在所示实施例中,两个1.5伏碱性电池在总电压大致3伏时开始工作,在它们的使用期限期限逐渐地降至2.6伏,在这一点上,输出电压降得非常快。这种降低发生在大约1个月/30天的刷牙使用后(每天刷牙两次,每次刷牙两分钟)。这样,碱性电池大体上能够提供一个功率输出水平足够在适当的牙刷使用期内仿效相应的商用牙刷的操作和性能。
在本发明中,电力控制电路帮助提供一个功率控制水平,该电能来自电池16并用来驱动马达18。在操作中,电池16的初始输出功率被降低以使电池的输出电压与相应的商用装置一致,即,在本实施例中的2.4伏。简言之,电力控制电路通过它(控制电路)的输出控制信号的工作循环变化控制着驱动马达的电能。在所示实施例中,来自3伏电池的电能通过减少控制信号的工作循环来降低以匹配商用装置中2.4伏电池产生的电能。然后电力控制电路调整控制信号的工作循环以保持试用装置在使用期限内送到马达的电能与商用装置的电能大致相当。这样,在本试用装置10期望的使用寿命内,与商用装置相比,驱动马达的电能基本上保持不变(平值,不升也不降)。
在美国专利No.5,994,855和图2的简化方框图电路中,显示并描述了本电力控制电路。电力控制电路包括微控制器40和马达驱动电路42。此微控制器以这样一种方式被编程控制来自马达驱动电路42的驱动信号的工作循环:首先来自电池16的电能被降到与商用装置的电池的输出功率相当。然后工作循环慢慢的增加以弥补电池放电电压随时间过去的任何减少,随着时间的过去并维持不变的功率水平,直到试用装置的预先选定的一些使用已经发生为止,此时,来自马达驱动电路42的输出驱动信号被终止,结束了试用装置的应用。该微控制器40采用已知的电池放电电压曲线编程,使工作循环的改变可与电池输出电压在时间上的改变相一致。如图3放电电压曲线36显示了这一情况。
图2的控制电路产生的驱动信号的实际上的结束相当于电池在选定的一个短的期限(试用期)后丧失了足够的电能以驱动装置。该驱动信号终止电路,尽管对本发明而言不是必需的,但事实上因为一些原因是很重要的,这些原因包括,保证试用装置将能持续期望的刷牙次数,但不能更多。
不管电池是否被允许通过其自身的正常的放电电压循环来降低电压,使装置及时在特殊的点上停止工作,或者说装置的使用真正结束了,对于这两种情况必须有一个有效的如95%的置信度,使装置将持续仿效至少刷牙60次的适当的刷牙效果或者别的一些特殊的刷牙次数足以给本装置提供一个合适的试用时间。
放电电压线38显示了附加在放电电压曲线36上的另一种电能的独立特征重叠。在放电电压曲线38中,电力控制电路首先减少来自电路42的驱动信号,使之达到低于满功率的水平从而使使用者适应该装置的操作。图4更具体的显示了一个非常特殊的电能斜升特性的例子,其中在总共刷牙大约13次期限马达18的从最初的大约70%升到100%。其他的也会被使用。
这个方案允许使用者慢慢的适应该装置的操作。因此最初电力控制电路通过驱动电路42的工作循环的控制,给马达提供输出功率,该输出功率低于满功率,即低于正常操作时商用装置的功率。然而,在一个选定的限定数目的刷牙次数以后,就达到了满功率,然后电力控制电路在试用装置预先决定的使用寿命内给马达18保持全功率输出。然而最初降低的电能的这个“学习”特征对本发明而言不是必需的,它确实仿效了相应的商用电动牙刷的另一个操作特征,所以在这里进行描述。
这样,在所示的特殊的实施例中,电力控制电路给马达提供一个驱动信号,该驱动信号导致在牙刷试用期开始时,给马达提供较低的电能,但是然后斜升,此后保持满电能直到该试用装置使用期结束。如上面所说明的,该试用装置的使用期的结束是碱性电池的电能在选定的使用次数以后自然的快速降低的结果或者是由电力控制电路本身的操作使得供给马达的电能突然结束。
商用装置的其他特征,特别是那些影响牙刷性能的特征可以仿效,例如,可以提供其中的电池的低电能状态指示闪烁灯。
在预先选定的使用次数、适当的使用时间结束时,本试用装置不再工作。该装置然后可以被使用者丢弃掉,没有必须把它交还给制造商的不便。这是大多数传统的试用装置的特征。
因此,对于相应的商用电动牙刷来说,试用装置提供了选定的使用次数的商用装置的仿效品,以便充分试用该商用装置,此装置被设计成试用后可抛弃的。它包括低成本、非充电电池,以及不附加任何充电装置。此装置可以以特殊方式被设计和包装以指明它是试用装置,并且在达到降低成本的同时仍然可靠的仿效了相应的商用装置的操作和性能。这样使预期的客户对此商用装置有一个满意的尝试。在体验过本试用装置后,使用者然后将很有可能愿意直接转向购买商用装置(回到先前的手动刷牙方式的用户通常被视为不是理想的用户)。也可以通过不同的方法鼓励他们购买真正的商用装置。如通过促销,特别的折扣等。然而此试用装置是不能被转化成商用装置,而是被设计成可抛弃的。这个基本的“试用装置”的概念也可以应用于其他的电动个人护理用具,否则这些用具作为试用装置会被视为太昂贵。
尽管出于示例的目的在这里已公开了本发明的一个优选实施例,应该理解的是,在不离开本发明精神下可以做出各种改变、变型和替换,这将由下面的权利要求书中限定。
Claims (5)
1.一种可抛弃的试用型电动牙刷,包含:
一个设计成具有模拟相应的商用电动牙刷的性能的试用型电动牙刷,包括一个相应的商用电动牙刷的电动装置;其特征在于
该试用型电动牙刷的电动装置在试用期限内提供供给试用型电动牙刷的电能,以使使用者有机会适应试用型电动牙刷的操作并能评估其性能,
试用型电动牙刷在所述试用期限内的操作大致接近相应的商品牙刷,
该试用型电动牙刷的电动装置包括一具有能量放电特性的不可充电电池,以在整个试用期限内输出满功率;
该试用型电动牙刷的电动装置包括一电力控制电路,该电路与电池一起控制试用型电动牙刷的工作并在所述试用期限后终止其工作;
其中试用型电动牙刷在所述试用期限后不再工作时,该试用型电动牙刷可以丢弃掉。
2.如权利要求1所述可抛弃的试用型电动牙刷,其特征在于,该不可充电电池具有能量放电特性,以使在所述试用期限结束时,来自电池的输出电压不足以操作该试用型电动牙刷。
3.如权利要求1所述可抛弃的试用型电动牙刷,其特征在于,该电力控制电路以试用期限内电池的输出电压为基础,通过改变用于驱动牙刷的马达的马达驱动电路的控制信号的工作循环,在试用期限内弥补电池输出电压减少,以控制操作试用型牙刷的电能在所述试用限内以与相应的商品牙刷大约一致的水平工作。
4.如权利要求1所述可抛弃的试用型电动牙刷,其特征在于,电力控制电路在该试用期限的开始时的一段时间内提供低于满功率输出的输出功率以使使用者适应此牙刷的操作。
5.一种可丢弃的试用型的电动个人护理用具,包括:

该试用型电动用具的电动装置在试用期限内提供电能给试用型电动用具,以使使用者有机会习惯该电动用具的操作并以评估其性能,
其中,试用型电动用具与相应的商用的用具在所述试用期限内具有相似的操作,
该试用型电动用具的电动装置包括一具有能量放电特性的不可充电电池,以在整个试用期限内输出满功率;
该试用型电动用具和电动装置包括电力控制电路,该电力控制电路与电池结合控制试用型电动用具的工作,并在所述试用期限后结束其工作,
其中该试用型电动用具在所述试用期限后不再工作时,该试用型电动用具可被丢弃。
