本发明的对象是制造金属蜂窝体的方法和设备。
尤其为了减少废气内、尤其内燃机优选地汽油机排气内的某些有害成分,采用所谓的催化器,催化器包括一个设有催化有效涂层的载体。载体有多个可流过排气的通道。在通道的壁上涂有催化有效涂层。这样一种载体有蜂窝状结构。
蜂窝体优选地设计为整体的形式。它可以由陶瓷材料构成。还已知一些用金属材料制的蜂窝体。这些蜂窝体通过烧结或浇注制成。
尤其在排气催化器的领域还已知一些金属蜂窝体,它们由至少部分具有某种结构的金属薄板层构成。例如EP 0263324 A1介绍了这种金属蜂窝体的一种实施形式。此蜂窝体或基体由一条波纹状的或一条光滑的与一条波纹状的金属带构成。此金属带或这些金属带卷绕或折叠成多个互相邻接的层。EP 0263324 A1公开了一种螺旋形卷绕的蜂窝体。此基体装入一套管内。必要时蜂窝体与套管钎焊。在此钎焊过程中各金属薄板层也可以互相钎焊。
由WO 97/06358 A1已知一种方法用于制造由多个至少部分结构化的薄板层构成的具有许多可流过流体的通道的蜂窝体,其中首先由许多至少部分具有某种结构的薄板构成一个堆叠。此堆叠置入一开口的模具中并被一固定装置固定在模具的中心区内。模具的至少两个模具扇形块从其起始位置起按这样的方式分别移动,即至少使每个罩盖段的一部分贴靠到堆叠上。之后堆叠变形以构成一基体。如此制成的基体被装入一套管内。
WO 97/00135 A1说明了另一种制造蜂窝体的方法。
在构成基体的过程中产生沿基体横截面不均匀分布的应力,它们可能导致形成缺陷部位。在这些缺陷部位基体的强度降低,因为在这些区域内相邻的薄板层互相没有钎焊。当基体由具有微结构尤其横向微结构的薄板层构成时这一问题尤为严重。
由此出发本发明的目的是提供一种制造金属蜂窝体的方法和设备,采用这种方法和设备可以减少缺陷部位。
按本发明此目的通过一种具有权利要求1特征的制造金属蜂窝体的方法和通过具有权利要求9特征的按本发明的设备达到。按本发明的方法以及按本发明的设备的其他有利的设计是相关从属权利要求的内容。
按本发明的制造金属蜂窝体的方法,首先将至少一个至少部分具有某种结构的金属薄板层通过卷绕、层叠或缠绕构成一基体。如此构成的基体装入套管内。在另一个加工步骤中如此准备好的蜂窝体被施加一个基本上直线状的力。此力基本上沿径向向内的方向。力在套管外表面上的作用逐渐进行以及此力足够大,所以在力的作用下至少套管弹性变形。蜂窝体就像被碾压一样。采用这种工艺方案实现基体的无噪音清除应力,从而减少基体的缺陷部位。
按照此方法的一项有利的设计建议,蜂窝体装在至少两个互相隔开间距的加压件之间。至少加压件之一被驱动。至少两个的加压件中至少两者之间的距离可以彼此相对改变。通过驱动至少一个加压件,套管的外表面被逐渐施加必要的力。通过改变在至少两个加压件之间的距离可以调整套管至少弹性变形所需的力。
按本发明另一项有利的设计建议,至少加压件之一实施移动的运动。优选地将蜂窝体装在两个板状的加压件之间,板状加压件彼此相对和基本上平行地运动。
两个加压件都运动并不是绝对需要的。按本发明有利的设计建议,只有一个板状加压件运动,而另一个板状加压件安置成位置固定的。这就使工艺过程的控制得到简化。
按方法的另一项有利的设计建议,板状的加压件互相反方向运动。由此减少加压件的空间需求和移动距离。尤其当蜂窝体有较大的直径时这是特别有利的。
按方法的另一项有利的设计建议,至少加压件之一旋转运动。尤其建议全部加压件旋转运动。由此可实现简化工艺过程控制的目的。尤其是减少了实施此方法的空间需求。
制造金属蜂窝体的方法优选地按这样的方式实施,即,将蜂窝体装在至少三个圆柱形加压件之间,在这种情况下圆柱形加压件可绕各自的轴线旋转。优选地这些加压件的轴线位于一个假想的圆周上。优选地这些轴线彼此等间距地分布在此假想的圆周上。
按本发明的另一个思想建议了一种制造金属蜂窝体的设备。此设备有至少两个彼此可相对运动的加压件。至少两个的加压件中至少两者的间距彼此可相对改变,所以可将加压件置于与套管外表面贴靠的位置,并在套管的至少一部分周边上逐渐施加一个基本上沿径向向里方向的力,通过它可至少使套管弹性变形。
优选地至少加压件之一与驱动装置连接。加压件作用在套管外表面上的力是可调的。必要时可在至少一个加压件上设适当的传感器测量此作用力。
尤其建议至少加压件之一可移动运动。加压件优选地设计为板状并且相互基本上可以平行运动。蜂窝体装在这些加压件之间。
作为替换方式,加压件可以旋转运动。尤其是建议,设备由至少三个圆柱形加压件构成,在这种情况下这些圆柱形加压件可绕各自的轴线旋转。

图1示意表示一种蜂窝体,它由基体和套管5构成。基体由光滑的薄板层1和波纹状的薄板层2交替地组成。光滑的和波纹状的薄板层1、2首先叠层,然后绕缠绕轴线3、4互相缠绕在一起。之后将此基体置入套管5内。
图2示意表示制造金属蜂窝体的设备第一种实施例。此设备有加压件6、7、8,蜂窝体装在它们之间。加压件6、7、8设计为圆柱形。每一个加压件6、7、8可绕其各自的轴线9、10、11旋转地支承着。加压件6、7、8的至少其中一个与图中未表示的驱动装置连接。在图示的此实施例中,加压件6设计为可从蜂窝体移开和移向蜂窝体。借助于没有表示的装置可以调整将加压件6压靠在蜂窝体套管5上的力。
加压件6、7、8布置在一假想的圆周12上。它们互相等距离分布。
若蜂窝体装在加压件6、7、8之间并调整好恰当的力,则通过图中未表示的驱动装置使至少一个加压件作旋转运动。在加压件和蜂窝体之间形成直线状接触区,它们分别将一个沿径向方向朝里的力至少引入此套管5中,所以至少套管5弹性变形。通过旋转,沿套管的周向看此力逐渐施加在套管内不同的部位。蜂窝体在加压件之间被碾压。
图4表示制造金属蜂窝体设备的第二种实施例。蜂窝体被置于两个板状加压件13、14之间。板状加压件13、14可彼此相对运动,所以加压件13、14作用在套管5上的力可以调整为不同的。在图4所示的实施例中,板状加压件13、14优选地彼此可反向运动。在图4中示意表示的设备也可以按这种方式改变,即,仅仅运动一个板状加压件。另一个板状加压件安置成位置固定的。
图5表示设备的另一种实施例。此设备包括设计为圆柱形的加压件16。一个基本上板状的加压件15与加压件16共同构成一个空隙,空隙内置入蜂窝体。加压件15、16贴靠在套管5的外表面上。通过在一个与板状加压件平行的平面内运动板状加压件15可至少使套管5弹性变形,所以至少减少基体内的缺陷部位的数量。

Claims (16)

1.制造金属蜂窝体的方法,其中,将至少一个至少部分具有某种结构的金属薄板层(1、2)卷绕、层叠或缠绕成基体并装入套管(5)内;沿套管(5)周向看,在套管(5)的外表面上逐渐施加一个基本上直线状的和基本上沿径向向里方向的力,通过它至少使套管(5)弹性变形。
2.按照权利要求1所述的方法,其中,蜂窝体装在至少两个互相隔开间距的加压件(6、7、8、13、14、15、16)之间,以及至少驱动加压件(6、7、8、13、14、15、16)之一,在这种情况下至少两个的加压件(6、7、8、13、14、15、16)中至少两者彼此的相对距离是可变的。
3.按照权利要求2所述的方法,其中,至少加压件(13、14、15)之一移动。
