This known hair cutting device comprises a hair clipper for cutting hair which is held in one hand and operated. The hair cutting device also includes a comb including a fixedly mounted first comb part and a second comb part adjustable relative to the first comb part. The second comb part includes a plurality of comb-like pieces arranged side by side, each comb-like piece has a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end being the tip, and the distal end being the rear end. A particular embodiment of the hair cutting device according to the invention is characterized in that flexible connection means are provided at least in the contact area. It is advantageous if a plurality of flexible connection means are arranged at substantially the same distance from each other in the contact area, so that the shape of the contact area can be adjusted in a consistent manner to the curve of the face area it contacts.

It is even better if flexible connection means are provided at least between the connection region and at least one of said end points. In this way, the angle of the contact area relative to the base portion of the comb can be adjusted during operation due to the bending of the comb along the flexible connection means.

Another embodiment of the hair cutting device according to the invention is characterized in that the end portion of the comb extends from the distal end to the base portion of the comb and is located in the hollow portion of the base portion of the comb. Thus, the comb has an end portion with an open end which can be bent along flexible connection means provided in the contact area or between the connection area and the proximal end.
